Fine day out for good price
Sand was in good shape, only issue was grass in a couple tee boxes was a bit high, which is annoying when I'm trying to hit bomb drives into the woods. Rough was a bit brutal in some areas just a bit off the fairway, but that's part of the game
Great Course. Great Price. Tough Challenge
I was in St. Louis for work and this is the first time I've played in Missouri. While it's off the beaten path it was well worth the trip. I was actually staying in chesterfield so it was about 20 min drive. I played late afternoon and it was a great price. Went off around 4:15 and got done with plenty of time before sunset. It was hot, so if you're not used to the heat and humidity (I'm from San Diego) then prepare yourself with food and water. I did not and was pretty gassed by the end of the round.
Layout - Overall it's a really interesting and fun layout. Great views. Cut out of the woods with some holes cutting across what looks like old historic stone bridges. It feels like a cool journey through the countryside from start to finish. Each hole had a completely unique look and feel. The one thing that makes the course tough is the lack of flat lies. Because it's cut out of the hills, there is a lot of undulation so the ball will likely be above or below your feet on a lot of shots. Think strategically about where you hit, as it will help with your next shot.
Course Condition - Overall fairways were in great condition as were most of the tee boxes. Only issue were the greens as they were soft and slow, but I suspect this is largely a result of over watering to prevent them from drying and burning given the heat. This does give you the ability to go right at the flag but the softness led to a lot of divots that had not properly been repaired. I bet when the greens firm up and get rolled, they are pretty good.
Practice Facility - good area. Grass tees which is always nice. Personally I hate mats.
Club House - simple gold shop but nice bar area. Overall a nice set up.
Will definitely return if in the area. Look forward to taking a second shot at it.
Great layout -excellent condition
This is one of the nicest courses in St. Louis. Got a great price through Golfnow. We played a weekday afternoon and practically had the course to ourselves. Great layout and fairways and greens were in excellent condition. One of my favorite courses to play.
Top in STL
Confidently claim that Pevely is one of the top public courses in STL. Played during the week and didn't even have to worry about pace of play, but I imagine it would be great on busy weekends. Course hadn't received rain in a while so fairways were a tad dry, but you could tell they were actively watering them without bothering golfers to make sure they stayed nice. Staff was friendly and welcoming and clubhouse was first class especially for a public course. These are all cherries on top of the actual course itself. Easily the best piece of land for a course in St. Louis - public or private - and the architect used it wonderfully. Magnificent views and hole layout. Many are isolated and you feel alone for stretches of holes. So much character. Would pay at least double to play again. Beyond worth the drive to Eureka.
Throughly Enjoyed the Round
I throughly enjoyed the round and plan to play again the next time I'm in the area.
Beautiful course, great weather
Course was in great shape, although with the wind and sunshine the greens got a little hard later in the day. Always a great place to play.
Great Course!
Very fun course with many hills. Can be challenging for the average golfer but well worth the money. I would play here again for sure!
Don't give them a CC#
The courses website advertised $53 per. I booked two tee times. I was charged $21.00 per tee time as a booking fee. (total of $42.00) Then was charged $51 per at the course. The pro that was there said he could not fix it but agreed (if at all) I should have been charge 1 booking fee and need to call for a refund of the other half. When I called, I was told the booking fee all went towards tax and I got away with only having 7 guys show when I booked 8???? They will not refund the fee and am told it is not their problem. I'm told my problem should be with their website and they do not run THEIR website. Golf Now or somebody does?? Here are 10 or 15 guys that will never be back due to the swindling, lack of honesty and ignorant attitude from a once respected golf course to us all!
Nice day at Pevely Farms
We had a twosome and moved right along. It took 3.5 hours to play. Course was in great condition except they had just aerated the greens - but it didn't affect us too much.
Beautiful course - you will have plenty of time to enjoy the view...
A truly beautiful course for a public course, and a decent price for the condition, BUT it was undoubtedly the slowest round I have ever played - 3 hours for 9 holes, after paying for 18 I only managed 13 before I had to leave (because I only 4.5 hours, which is usually plenty for 18 holes). They completely overstacked the tee times with groups of 4 at every time, way too close together, I get that they want to maximize income on courses but it makes for an appallingly slow round. I don't have 6 hours to spend on a golf course sitting around, and it does nothing for the fluidity of your game when you have to wait that long between shots. Also, it is very poorly signposted and finding the 2nd hole requires you to drive on a road for about 30 seconds, with no signs telling you which way to go on the road!
A beautiful course but I don't know if I would risk going back, I was told that the course is always backed up like this.
Excellent Course with Challenging Layout.
It's nice to play a course that requires strategic tee shots. I'm used to very flat courses too so to have elevation changes and undulating fairways was a bit of an adjustment. But it was fun to alter stances to compensate for the lie angle.
Will definitely go back!!
Pevely Farms on a Tuesday Morning
We had a great experience at Pevely Farms this week. Staff was friendly. Tee box was open was open and we never had to wait on any holes except to let a few single players go through. A few bad swings were the only problem we had. Interesting layout with beautiful scenery. We will be back often.
Great challenging course! Pace of play was very good! Course was in nice condition though grass on tees and fairways was rather tall, but overall great course. Will definitely play it again!
Great day on course
Course is in good condition. Hilly course with several blind shots. Recent flood did not hurt the course.
Even with the heavy flooding, course was in really good condition
Even with the heavy flooding, course was in really good condition. There are certain areas that are extremely muddy but they are well off the fairway. Greens were a bit slow but putted true
First time @ this course
The course was in good shape even with all the recent rain. Holes 5 thru 9 were closed. I Definitely will place this course again.
