Great course for the price
I played for 22 dollars. This was the deal of the year. Pearly farms was green the layout was great. Just bring your own drink the snack bar is expensive
A must play...
This course was a pleasure to play. Even though it had been a little cold and rainy for the two or three days before I played, the course was in fantastic condition, barring a few extremely damp spots in valleys of holes with elevated tee boxes.
I am of slightly below average skill, but Pevely provides a good mix of straight forward and challenging hole layouts to allow golfers of all skill levels to end their round feeling accomplished.
If you can find the time, try to get out there for a full round during a mid afternoon weekday. Pace of play is excellent. Can't wait to get back to this course.
A very wet day
The night & morning before we played it rained & rained alot. The course was like playing on a fully soaked sponge. But this is a great course & challenging. Lots of elavation changes some drastic, lots of blind shots, & side hill lies. I would play this course anytime.
Pevely Farms
Under new ownership and the course was in excellent shape at a reasonable price.
Good experience
Good course and great round of golf. Mandy behind the bar was great and super friendly!! The clubhouse could use some more apparel.
Beautiful course
I love this course more every time I play it. Very well kept and very challenging layout.
2016-04-09 (Pevely Farms Golf Club)
A great day to get out on the course with Brian Carr. Definitely a cold start, but we were the first group out at 8:45 this morning with temps hovering around 40 degrees. This was my first time playing at Pevely Farms, and it won't be my last. Tough to say the least. This was the single worst round I have played to date, it was as if I forgot how to swing a club. I only hit 2 fairways off the tee, and only parred 1 hole. It was UGLY.
But the course was awesome. The front 9 is much easier than the back 9. The back 9 was land was not bulldozed, and there is plenty of elevation changes and sloping fairways.
All in all, the course was in great shape with the zoysia fairways coming in and well repaired from last season's play. I will definitely be back.
Great setting and value
Challenging doglegs and blind shots but no tricks; gives the newcomer a chance with good course management.
Very Scenic Course!
Rolling hills, ample fairways, wonderful layout. If you have not played this course yet, make the drive west of St Louis and play. It was well worth it!
The course was very well maintained, even for a late winter round. If it looked this good in March, I can't wait to see it in June!
There are a few blind shots, but for the most part, the greens are visible.
No starter
We arrived before our tee time then were told bc of morning frost they were behind around 30 minutes. We waited around then used a putting green but noticed nobody at the first tee box and went and began our round on our own just a few minutes late. Seemed odd to be told to wait but then nobody starting ppl or having any order at the first box. Overall for the season course is in good shape. Would def play again
Good offseason experience
Played in 70 degree weather in December. Course was in good shape and not too wet. Bunkers had been tended to and rough was reasonable length. Hardly any leaves to hide your ball. About as good a shape as a zoysia course can be in the offseason. Greens were rolling well and had been mowed/rolled recently.
Enjoyed but....
I enjoyed the course but we made our reservations online so we had no idea that the fairways would be brown and dried out. No one mentioned anything except to tell us that the carts are "path only". Which was fine. I will look forward to playing again in the summer and hope course conditions will be improved by then.
Great shape in November
I was able to finish in 3 hours since hardly anybody was out there, and I was solo. Challenging course and great fun.
Madbimmer
Great course for a great price, considering the rainfall the day before it held up well.
Same as always....AWESOME!!
Pevely consistently provides a high quality golfing experience. Even this late in the season the course was in beautiful condition. The only complaint would be the pace of play. However, most courses in St. Louis have neglected to use marshals to maintain an acceptable pace.
All in all, Pevely continues to retain its place at the top of the St. Louis golf scene.
Challenging course
The weather was fantastic & everyone was out to play. The scenery is awesome. We were forced to pair up & the pace was moderate. They had a lot of rain recently so the course was a little sloppy & driving range was closed. This was our first time playing & this course was challenging. It requires course management on quite a few holes. Lots of hills, some blind shots & greens are not flat. We would play again but only if the driving range is open to practice first. Enjoy!
Disappointing Conditions
I first played this course with my son back in 2010 when he attended college in St. Louis. The conditions of the course were excellent at that time. I was in St. Louis on 10/2/15 and found a tee time at a discounted rate on GolfNow. Management has let this once fine track deteriorate. The greens were in rough shape with bare spots as well as considerable damage from pitch marks that had been left unrepaired. Sand had been completely removed from a few of the bunkers leaving dirt and weeds. It appears as if the management company is cutting costs by scaling back on maintenance. It was disappointing to see this once beautiful track diminished by neglect. Current conditions do not justify the rack rate. I would have been upset had I not gotten a deep discounted rate through GolfNow. On the plus side, the staff was friendly and accommodating, pairing me up with a friendly threesome which allowed me to start earlier than my originally scheduled tee time.
Best public course in STL area?
I believe I've found my favorite course in the St. Louis area. I can't wait to share this course with my friends. The layout is challenging and beautiful! With all the trees changing colors, the hills in the background are gorgeous. Staff is friendly, I really can't find anything to complain about the course. The only issue was the slow rate of play but it was a Saturday afternoon so that's expected.
Pretty, but the experience could be better considering the high cost
I play here often and always shoot about 100. Tee boxes and fairways were in great shape. Greens could use some TLC to encourage people to take care of their ball marks. Pace of play is always awful, but is isn't the golfers playing slow. It seems to be course design, and cart restrictions. Those restrictions keep the course in better shape, but it hurts the experience. I loose a few strokes a round walking 75 yards to the right edge of the fairway on a dogleg left to realize the 3 extra clubs I am carrying is not what I need. Forget walking back to the cart because I am holding up the group behind me already. That happens over and over with the groups stacked up and cart path restrictions. Around the greens has similar cart issues that cause long walks and really slow down the play.
