Great as usual
Great condition a little wet but had just rained the night before we were still off the paths. Greens rolled decent.
One of the best and most interesting public courses in St. Louis area.
The course, as many know, is interesting and challenging. The first hole is a pretty, looking down, hole. The next 4 are holes you can par easily, and then the Bermuda triangle can turn a good start into disaster with 3 difficult holes. #9 is an good par 5, and 10 is an interesting shot if you can fade your drive. #11 is difficult, but you have to aim slightly left of green to get a good result. #12 is a challenge, and #13 is an easy par. #14 always plays more difficult than a short par 3 should. #15 is straight, but protected by a bunker. #16 looks easy, but a bogie is not bad there. Same with #17. And the finishing hole is fun, as you can think about how aggressive you want to be, yet have to avoid the bunkers.
Course is in great condition!
Looks like a TPC course condition wise right now! It was soaked but thats mother nature's doing. Greens were still fast and true though wet. My only complaint is we had a 12:24pm tee time and they gave our slot away at 12:15pm saying we missed our tee time? Made us start on #10
Nice Course and Demanding
The tee time was delayed a half hour due to a morning tournament starting late and it took 5 hours to play the round(not acceptable but it was a very nice afternoon). No marshalls enforcing pace of play, the foursome ahead of us were very slow.
The course was well maintained. Greens were in great conditions and fairways were well maintained. The back nine has several doglegs and sloped fairways, don't expect very many level lies. Tee shots need to be accurate and accurate approach shots are key.
Despite the delay in our start time and the round taking 5 hours, the value for the course was good and the condition of the course made it a pleasant outing.
Pevely Farms
Tees, fairways were dormant but in good condition. Greens appeared to have been aerated in the prior week, but in good condition. Puts rolled good.
Fully expect the course to be in great condition in the next two weeks.
Good course
Great price...course is challenging...they ae making me write more even though I have said enough
First round of the year
Situational:
Greens nice but bumpy.
6 hour round! Atypical. ?
Great people.
The course is usually in better shape than it was when I played this time.
I have played this course 6 times now and I would have to say that I would not play it if it weren't for the deal on golfnow.com I would never pay full price for this course. When we played they hadn't even mowed the greens. We played on a Sunday too!!! Fairways were in good shape. But overall I say for the 70 bucks it is supposed to cost it should look much better tee to green.
too much distance between some holes but tough " not fun for high handicaps"
overall is was pleasent and plan to play again hope soon
Great design with the exception of #12.
Overall, great layout in a scenic area. Nice elevation changes and challenging for all levels of play. Course condition was excellent considering the time of year, with exception of the traps. I would highly recommend to friends.
Keep the doors unlocked until customers are fnished!
Always like course layout & scenery. Conditions OK considering time of year. Hopefully 1-time gripe, but course management locked up clubouse with golfers still on course, leaving behind just the cart "kids". When I finished my round & asked to use the bathroom, I was told I could use the dumpster off to the side. Nice to be made to feel like a housier on one of St. Louis' nicest public courses.
Nice layout
Course has nice layout surrounded by hills and valleys. Very well maintained, played there in the middle of winter and it was in great condition, can't wait to go back in the summer.
70 degrees in january
Golf in January !, hard to judge course in these conditions .. But it would seem that during season this course would be great . A hilly course with many risk rewards opportunities ..
A St. Louis must see
Overall, this is a great course. From the novice to the experienced, this course has something to offer everyone. A beautiful links style course set in scenic St. Louis County (Eureka), each hole presents a new challenge. The changes in altitude as well a series of blind shots constantly force you to double think your shots. I have golfed this course twice now- once in January and once in June- and both times I've gone it's been kept very well, the staff has been courteous, and I have thoroughly enjoyed my time.
winter condition so take your chances
No mention of cart path only or that back nine closed and had to play front 9 twice to get in 18. but at $18 on golf now still ok deal.
Fun tract
Greens aerated a little too late in the year still showing marks probably will all winter
Got a great deal $15 per player
Very nice public golf course
Fairways are in great shape for December, no voids in greens either. Nice course layout. Can't believe we only paid $12.00 for 18 with a cart ! Thanks
Good Price, Always Well-Maintained
We played this past Sunday at Pevely and it did not dissapoint. I was able to get a tee time around 11 Am for $36, which is a steal at Pevely. The course is, of course, well-maintained and always fun to play. I hope to get back this winter again, weather and price permitting.
Love the GPS setup in cart. Classy joint.
Challenging but enjoyable layout
I have played here several times and always enjoyed it. I find it rather pricey unless you get a discount deal. Several sets of tees make it fun for various levels of golfers. Friendly staff, usually a beverage cart out, which I like. I wish they had more variety in the clubhouse for lunch choices. Main gripe is pace of play. Too many players playing from the tips, no rangers monitoring pace. This most recent experience was painfully slow, often waiting on two groups to tee off.
