Winter Golf
Front 9 are decent and easy. Back 9 are challenging. It was cold Winter rules cart path only.
Cart path only
Great course
Did not know they are cart paths only all winter
Don't mind a little exercise but most cart paths are 30 or more yards to fairway edge
Nice Course
Good course, good shape, good staff - good value through GolfNow otherwise a bit pricey. Could use a real course marshal to keep the players on pace.
The pretty girl that’s dumb
As title states, this course is the pretty girl that’s dumb. Looks nice, in decent shape, but just a stupid layout and design overall.
There are several holes with no great position to hit into the green from, like you hit great tee shots and end up in terrible spots. You just have to hope for lucky rolls on over half the holes.
A train track runs right thru the middle of the course and boy can you not only hear it, you can feel it. Greens, while in good condition, are also designed to account for luck more than skill. I was with two elite college golfers and a korn ferry qualifier and they described the course as “putt Putt meets golf” - which is kind of perfect. There are literally two holes in the back 9 that are the exact same.
There’s a good deal of construction all year here too, and they just leave machines and pumps running in the course. For being so far away from the city, it’s louder than any course in the city.
They charge nearly 100 bucks for this. While a great deal in winter Florida, in this area it’s just silly.
So, while good views, pretty fairways, and decent greens are there, it’s all just wasted in less than stellar golf experiences.
Just can’t recommend over other area options.
Perfect Day
Course was in great shape from the tee boxes to the greens. Beautiful 71 degree November day. Great pace of play.
Course conditions were good considering the recent rain downpour. Greens were not slow as they were last year and ball rolled well
Course is always in great shape and continues to be.
Always a good round…
Course is challenging given the layout but can be rewarding with a few well placed shots. Greens were an issue due to being heavily sanded, which affected putting greatly, but that was the only issue.
Course
Course was in good condition. Overall experience was good. Unfortunately, got stuck behind a slow foursome.
WOW
Awesome golf course, very challenging, and in top condition. The staff was very friendly and helpful, I had a 11:57am tee time, but I didn’t want to sit in my hotel room all morning, so I arrived very early and hit a bucket of balls, on a very impressive driving range. The practice green was just like putting on the course. A staff member got me a yardage book, which was very helpful, as this was my first time playing the course. Thank you to the crew at Pelevy Golf course.
3rd Time
3rd Time For me! First time for my group! They Loved it! Haven’t played it in forever, since 2015. But it was everything I remember. My group was excited and happy with every hole! We will be back!
Pevely Farms policy sucks
8/8/2023 was my 65th birthday and I picked Pevely Farms to play. It was my #2 favorite course to play in the MO, IL area. It seems that they have a ‘policy’ that if you purchase your round on Golf Now and are a single you have to share a cart with another player. I saw the guy they were going to pair me with. I’m allergic to cigarette smoke. They really didn’t care. The ‘policy’ trumps all. I’m not letting me ride in a cart by myself my birthday of golf was ruined. I argued but they said no. This is the stupidest policy I have ever heard of. Their parking lot only had 30 cars in it which means 30 players at the most. In requiring singles to share a cart they are saving like $.25 because that’s all it takes to charge up the cart battery but it makes people hat them and their course. I have played this course at least 30 times in the last 20 years. I will never play there again. They wouldn’t refund my money because I booked it on Golf Now. It was to late to cancel the booking so I lost $45. I even bought a small bucket of balls and they wouldn’t refund that either because of the ‘policy’ so I lost $50 on my 65th birthday. The ‘policy’ is even on Golf Now. I don’t know why you ever would have agreed to list them with such an insane policy that only benefits them and not the golfer.
Tough but good
Great course with very friendly and helpful staff. The rough is very rough, if you find it you'll almost certainly lose your ball.
Undulates a lot. I'll be back for sure
