Waterford is a tranquil journey molded for players by Mother Nature and refined by Senior PGA star Hale Irwin. Since opening in 1997, this classic design has received rave reviews from local and national media, as well as golfers from all over the Southeast. It is nestled among dense hardwoods on rolling terrain, and is a true shotmaker's course.
The practice complex includes a driving range, large putting green, short game and bunker area. Waterford also features a comfortable clubhouse that houses banquet and dining facilities, and a well-stocked pro shop.
Waterford Golf Club measures 6942 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 137 and a 72.9 USGA rating. The course features 4 sets of tees for different skill levels.

Water on Waterford
While there was some wet spots in the AM but the course seem to drain well. Greens great shape.
Good little golf course.
If you’re in the Rock Hill SC area and need a place to play. This could be it. It’s somewhat tight off the tee box on a lot of holes but it’s short enough that you don’t need to risk it if you have a wild driver or fairway wood. Greens were in good shape and quick on the downhill putts. A few pins were in some super tough spots and if the ball didn’t go in you had a five or 6 footer coming back, even if you were putting up hill. I would play it again for sure though.
Passing through Rock Hill
Was heading to North Carolina for work and had an afternoon to enjoy golf while traveling. Course is in good shape and greens are maintained well. Like the layout of the course and had good shade spots to park on the cart paths. Would definitely play again in the fall if possible and recommend it if you’re traveling through the Rock Hill area. Right off the interstate so convenient also.
Staff Fail
We played this course early and this course is usually great. This time all of the daily upkeep seemed to take priority over golf. Every hole on the front nine there was a mower and a sand guy that would not stop or get out of the way of our playing. I wonder if they always do this but will not find out as for the money they charge is not worth having to hit into greens with someone walking around oblivious to paying customers playing golf.
4 Handicap - excellent course
This course was in great shape, the day after severe thunderstorms and heavy rain. The holes have shot shaping challenges, good distance, small challenging greens that were easily rolling a 10 or 11… a lot of the challenge is hitting the ball close to the hole. If you have a 30 foot putt, try not to three putt!
Great day!
We very much enjoyed the round, the course is beautiful and in very good shape. There was a windstorm earlier in the day so there was a little debris on the greens. The greens are in great shape. The staff are always very friendly. The group ahead of us thought they were playing for big bucks as they really took their time, but all in all, a great day on the course.
Disappointed
Rumors that DT bought this course and made big changes. Guess that went south with the stadium.
