Great location and availability.

Booked early tee time on Wednesday morning when all other courses mornings were already booked up to 3. Course was in good shape for this time of the year. Greens were a little hard but putted true. Bring your sand wedge as there will be plenty of opportunities to use it. Ill be b ack next week.

Best Layout in the Area

Carolina Lakes always sets up to be one of the Charlotte areas premier locations for golf. The amenities are exceptional, including the practice area and the staff is always friendly. If the course conditions are maintained and kept as they are now, this course is as good as any!

Pace of play was horrible…..2 hours and 45 minutes to play 9 holes. With a 1:30 tee time I only got to play 9 holes. Front 9 is long, but in good shape for time of year. Can’t tell you about back 9. Need a ranger to control pace of play.

This course was challenging, very hilly, but fun.

This course was more than I expected being a public facility. Was well maintained, and the staff was friendly. It was a big course with lots of terrain to play on. Definitely not a walker’s place, but best for a golf cart! Watch out for hole nine, which we called a bunker Sea!

Charged an extra tee time after calling 24 hours in advance to cancel

They charged an extra tee time even though I called 24 hours in advance to cancel one of our players. They said it needed to be 48 hours when the golf now app says 24.

Rude and unprofessional staff

Booked a tee time for four. Two players had to cancel when a child woke up sick, and they called me two hours before the tee time. When I arrived and explained, I was told I’d still be charged because it wasn’t within 24 hours — even though it was clearly out of my control.

They said the “manager” (who wasn’t even there) would decide later whether to charge my card, leaving me with a $200 “maybe” hanging over my head. When I mentioned I’ve played golf for over 30 years and never had this happen, one employee interrupted me with, “well I’m not sure where you’ve played,” and another added, “yeah, we’ll never let you back.”

Completely unprofessional attitude and an absurd policy. If this is how they treat paying golfers, I’ll take my business elsewhere — and others should too.

Should Have Been Told

Greens were punched and sanded a couple of day before, but we did not know that. There should be a warning on the app! Putting was worthless. A lot of grass needed to be mowed since you waste a lot of time looking for a ball that was a great shot. Never understood why this course is so overpriced when there are so many better choices in the area. Thought I would try it one more time and was sorely disappointed.

Great track

Saturday play is crowded anywhere, but the rangers kept things moving. My only complaint is not enough water stations.

Don’t try to walk

In very good condition for early August. Tee boxes are spread out, really not walkable.

Sad

Shame on you for charging $100 with those greens and bunkers. It’s sad become the layout is amazing. The fairways were in great shape but the greens were really bad. The bunkers are in bad shape as well. Come on for $100 put some sand in your bunkers. No rain guards or GPS on the cart and you charged $100. Really sad. What is going on in the Charlotte area with these prices for mediocre courses.

Agreed and too many fake reviews here by members who want to keep the public coming to keep their prices down. Skip this one!

Decent course. Slow play.

The layout is enjoyable. The course is in good enough shape. Course play tends to be light, but the problems arise when you get stuck behind a member. They are slow and don’t know (or don’t care) about letting faster players through. That makes for an unpleasant experience.

Fun track

definitely worth the money and all the golf course you would possibly want. Starter seem to be a little bit disorganized, but the overall staff is great. Could not find where to drop our bags but may do. Overall great experience.

Great Course / over priced for conditions

For a $100 round of golf, the greens were not in good shape. Half the greens were bumpy, dirt, and patchy.

Bad Value

Clubhouse and staff are very nice. When I pay $100 for a round of golf I expect the course to be in pretty good condition. The bent greens are struggling a lot. They seems like they are on their last leg to be honest. Bunkers are also not well maintained. Fairways and tee boxes were fine. Would never play this course for $100 again. Needs to be $50 compared to what you can get elsewhere
