About
White Heron Golf Club (formerly known as Ridgewood Lakes Golf Club) has had many accolades over its history and for good reason. The Ted McAnlis layout is sculptured from lush rolling land and features immaculate playing conditions year round. Water and natural wetlands come into play on 16 of our 18 holes and the resident breeze can significantly change the course from day to day. Yet despite the natural beauty and obvious pedigree of the layout, with four sets of tees the course is still enjoyable for golfers of all levels.

Golfer Reviews
Really Fun Course!
The layout is phenomenal and I'm noticing the conditions consistently improving. Can't beat that price, either. Also, best restaurant at a golf course I've ever eaten at! End of the day, we had fun, and that's the most important part.
New carts, wet and soaked
Basically the course wasn't cut and we weren't advised of the conditions, other than CP only 1-10.
It was worse, new greens are far from grown in and I lost too many well struck balls that plugged. The cutting I can excuse due to the water but overall it needs greens keeper care.
The club house staff was no where to be found upon arrival. The course closed the front nine and didn’t let me or the couple playing behind me of the closure! The back nine is in horrible condition. The greens are trash and the fairways look like the rough. I will never play there again. I would advise all do the same.
Working on it
They are trying to make improvements however tee boxes and fairways mostly sand. The plethora of weeds in the greens are starting to get better but the weed killer they used has left mini bunkers everywhere. Like a hand grenadine exploded. Next step would possibly be to put sand in those potholes to level them out.
Thank you for playing White Heron Golf Course and thank you for commenting about the efforts we are putting into upgrading the course. We adjusted the rate to be consistent with the course conditions. The craters you mentioned will be gone next week as we are aerifying the greens.
Once again we appreciate the honest comments and we are constantly striving to make this course the best in Central Fl.
Thanks, WHGC
A course that could be much better.
The course has a great layout but the conditions are rough. It's a little underwhelming after pulling into a development with a water fall that the golf course is in that tough of shape.
What happened to the White Heron golf course??
Yesterday was the first time I’ve played White Heron in some time. The last time I played it, it was called Ridgewood Lakes and it was a great track. This course is now no more than a cow pasture with flags in the ground representing greens. It’s very sad what has happen to a course that used to be a great place to play. I will never be back and never recommend this course to anyone.
You can have your opinion about the Golf Course, but when you give a poor rating for Staff and amenities and price that's when I take offense to your review.
Our Staff goes above and beyond to insure everyone has a great time, our restaurant and bar is top notch with Authentic Korean and Italian food, as far as value for the money there's not a better value in central fl. $29.00 for a Championship Course that we tell everyone playing of the conditions and all the hard work we are putting into the course. We have been in a severe drought where it's raining all around us , but we can't seem to get any.
We have 99 out of 100 players who had a great time playing I'm sorry that your day didn't go has planned, but there are a lot of courses to choose from hope next time you'll enjoy your round

Needs improvement
Rough is high in alot of places. Some around greens. Good luck finding a ball. Greens were good but slower than normal. Sprayo g for weeds on greens.
Most Gem
This course used to be amazing, looks like it’s been neglected recently. Fairways aren’t cut and are thick. Greens are like putting on carpet. Tee boxes are more sand and ants than grass. Wouldn’t go again for a while.
Thank you for playing White Heron Golf Course, the summer special is 29.00 for a reason. We are not neglecting the golf course we are making changes and renovations to parts of the course.
It's like the old saying goes you have to break a few eggs to make an omelet. It is still a great tract to play and have fun without breaking the bank, hopefully next time we will meet your expectations.

Needs TLC
I was very disappointed with the course conditions. Fairways and greens were in the worst shape I've ever seen. Heron was once a very nice course. Great layout. Good challenge. JC
You bought a Hot Deal for 22.00 and your complaining about the conditions of a championship golf course. The reason we are charging so low is first: we are doing a lot of maintenance and structural changes on the course, while this is being done the conditions will not be ideal, but in know way are they as bad as you make it. Second we want to give the residents a break this summer and let them enjoy a great track without paying through the nose. Try us in fall if your looking for top conditions.
Thank you WHGC
Fun Course; Conditions sub-par
White Heron is typically one of my go-to courses in the summer as the rates are very reasonable compared to peak season. Normally would pay around ~$40 in the past, but there is a Summer special this year for $29. However, what you’d get in terms of course conditions in prior years for the higher rate is nowhere near what you are getting for $29.
The conditions have significantly deteriorated over the last 8-10 months. Many of the tee boxes are dirt and dead grass, fairways overall are decent, and the greens are a little thick and slow with some dead spots and weeds sprouting. Bunkers are decent as well, but many are more of a wet sand / dirt, many of the rakes are broken or missing so it’s difficult to even rake your bunker properly.
Overall, some of the conditions may be a result of the drought, but many other courses in the area are in better shape currently for similar price. Would I play it again this summer for $29, possibly; hopefully management can return this fun and challenging course to its glory before it’s too late.
We have lowered the price this year because of Changes to the course and extensive maintenance programs that take time to complete. The course is in good shape and is one of the best tracks in Central Fl.
Hopefully we'll see you when our projects are completed.
Thank you, WHGC
It's Ok
This was my first time playing on this course and it was ok. Some of the greens had weeds and it was hard to put. The course overall is very challenging as it is and weeds need to be taking care of. For around $30 is about what I would pay for a course.
Great course design, poor green & fairway surfaces.
Such a shame. Layout and holes interesting. Quality of greens & fairways really poor to be honest. Don’t wanna beat the course up, but it needs a lot of loving care to bring it back to all day every day use. Really if it could be looked after the layout is interesting. Sorry guys!!
OK I think you've trashed us enough with ridiculous comments and clearly you know nothing of taking care of a Golf Course. We are in the middle of our maintenance season and our people are doing a tremendous job. We are only charging 29.00 to play this great course because of all the maintenance and repairs to the course., we recently aerated the greens and they are healing nicely, our bunkers are in great shape and we have more grass in our fairways then most other higher end courses. I take offense to the ridiculous comments you are spewing and I am so happy for all of our other Golfers that are enjoying this break from high prices and having a great time Playing White Heron Golf Club.
Maybe next time we will be more to your liking.
Thanks, WHGC
Nice layout, Green and Fairways really poor
Played early this am. Course was super wet in so many areas. Fairways were bare in to many centre of fairways areas.
Greens - wow! Bare I. Places, uncut in areas and slow, next one super fast. Bumpy in a general poor condition, This is a shame as the actual layout is decent.
GN weekday hot deal
Only $17.
Cups haven’t been moved in many days. Incredibly worn down. Greens were yellow and slow. Very tightly cut. Fairways gave zero compression. Muff city with all the sand. Tee boxes were the same, soft sand under your feet, like hitting out of a bunker. Leaving the course after round, notices the sprinklers were in full force at almost 3pm. Watering in the hot sun at that time boils the greens. Like the management here. Nice peopl working at the course and clubhouse.
Course need serious TLC.
It was only $17.
*GPS was spot on for distances, especially to the position of the pin.
Wll check back in the fall.
Thank you for playing White Heron Golf Course.
The above mentioned items you are referring to (other than the fairways) is exactly why we are charging 29.00 plus tax all day to play this great layout. These areas are under daily repair and maintenance this summer so by fall we will be in great shape at one of the best Championship courses in Central FL.
If we were to charge more, we feel it would be a disservice to the players, but at our current rate it is the best deal in fl.
Thank you, WHGC
To address your review:
1. You were notified twice when you booked your Hot Deal that there was a course alert and aerification alert, plus you were told when you checked in and we gave you the option to not play if you'd like.
2. You paid 14.99 for a Hot Deal at that time you should have realized something was going on at the course due to the low price.
3. Our Staff was getting 75 carts ready for pick up as we just put in brand new carts, I apologize that we weren't there to greet you.
4. The back nine that you played is in no way the conditions you described.
5. The Nest Restaurant and Bar is one of the best in Central FL. maybe you should have tried it before giving a poor review.
Try us again in the future, but call us direct and we will give you an honest course condition review.
Thank you, WHGC
