The Club at River Wilderness

The course is much better from 5 weeks ago. Tee to greens is now very playable. Only negative is sand bunkers. Many with an abundance of water. (Poor drainage) Not very playable. Otherwise , we will be going back!

Staff was very welcoming. The driving range was large with multiple targets for warmup and practice. The putting green was small but ample for the number of players at the time. The course has generous fairways. There was plenty of evidence that the maintenance team is working to improve the overall conditions of the course. In general the greens were ‘ok’ not great, but better than I was led to believe. Overall, this was a good outing and I will play here again.

We played here last year and it has improved bunkers need to have more sand as they were very hard to play out of.

From the friendly check-in person to the GPS in the golf cars, I was glad to play this course again as I enjoy the course layout and challenges that can be reached. The crew is working hard improving the fairways. The greens were in good shape. An enjoyable day!

I love this course. The layout is very fair and very playable, however they have had some challenges with course conditioning over the years since COVID.

Our round today was great - there was a lot of maintenance being done on areas where the drainage has traditionally been poor, but this didn’t affect the course playability.

Some areas of the course were wet and there were some rough patches on some of the greens, HOWEVER, when other very average local courses are charging $100 (or more) for a round, the $25.00 charge for 18 holes in a cart with GPS was exceptional value.

We will certainly return again soon.

Staff was wonderful. On time with tee time and pace of play was super with mid morning start. Tee boxes were average at best with several not available as repairs seemed to be going on. Fairways were good in spots to quite poor in others. Greens overall were good with some having repair happening but open. Greens were quite slow! Had not played for two years because of poor condition . We had group of approximately 24 that played for about two years but, conditioning pushed us away. We will play again this week with several of our group to see if we might try them again. I doubt we will commit!

The course is fun and a great value but I got stuck behind a group of kids that weren’t taking the game seriously unfortunately.

Your gate people were absolutely horrible to our uber drivers and on the phone when we were trying to get picked up and dropped off. Will not recommend this course because of that which is too bad because the course itself was great. The guy at the pro shop was amazing. Too bad your entire staff can’t be amazing.

The layout of the course is excellent. The actual maintenance of the course is horrible. Hard to find grass in the fairway and the greens are terrible. They should pay you to play here. I would be embarrassed to live on this golf course.

First time greens where not well-maintained, other days excellent conditions

This could be a really nice course to play but the coarse in such bad condition it’s like playing in a desert. There is not much grass on the fairways the tee boxes are in poor condition and also not much grass. The greens were also patchy and sandy and not much grass. The 18th hole is closed and can’t be played at all. The only good thing I can say is it’s a nice course layout and the green fees are low. This course needs to close for a year and redo the whole course.

After driving more than an hour to reach the course, we discovered that it was in terrible condition. Both the fairways and greens were in very poor shape, with large areas lacking grass and making play virtually impossible.

To make matters worse, the driving range was closed, the putting green was closed, and none of this information was disclosed when booking through GolfNow. Had we known the true condition of the course, we would never have made the reservation.

As a result, we were unable to play, lost the money we paid for the booking, and had to spend additional time searching for another course where we could actually golf.

GolfNow should be transparent about course conditions, and the club should not be accepting tee times without clearly informing golfers about the state of the facilities. This was a complete waste of time and money.

This course should be embarrassed with charging to play. The greens are unplayable. They should close until the green situation is fixed. Used to be a great course.

Nice course layout. Hard to play the fairways due to drought conditions. The course needs to have a Ranger for the weekend to manage the pace of slow players.

Course has a nice layout, but the grass everywhere is horrible, the greens have weeds / bumps / sand pockets / ant holes / dirt. Course needs serious attention
