About
Inspired by the backdrop of the Manatee River, Ted McAnlis has created the ultimate golf experience with the perfect combination of beauty and challenge. Waterlefe Golf & River Club is built along a particularly beautiful section of the Manatee River, complete with wide expanses of pristine marshes and pleasant coves. Don't be surprised if on the 15th tee you spot a family of manatees poking noses up for a breath of air. The golf course was designed with a great deal of time, effort and expense going toward protecting and resorting the natural environment that gives the course it unique character. The gently sloped greens with the newest Tifteagle Bermuda offer the ultimate in putting. From a lazy start on the par-5 first hole to the big finish on the 18th hole island green, golfers love Waterlefe Golf & River Club!

Golfer Reviews
Greens
The greens have been aerified recently. This was not mentioned when I booked the round. Greens were very bumpy and unpredictable. I like this course in general, but I will wait a month before returning. GolfNow gets one star rating for lack of reporting the condition of the greens at the time of booking. The value of this round,in my opinion, was less than half the rate at the time of booking.
Interesting in a Great Way
I teed off late yesterday for a solo round. The facilities were beautiful and modern, staff was friendly, and for the price, the course was truly a steal. Many holes wind in and out of the canals of Bradenton with beautiful homes and boats almost everywhere. I played from the tips, and it’s definitely a shot makers course, with lots of marshland, forests and waterways around, but still open enough to be very fair from the closer tee boxes. The greens were hilly with loads of subtle breaks- I learned I needed to spend a lot of time reading them before putting. Definitely an enjoyable challenge.
I walked away thinking over and over- what an interesting, interesting course- and I mean that in the most complimentary way. Definitely recommend.
One Of The Most Enjoyable Courses In Manatee County
Played a late morning weekend round. We hadn’t played here in several years and were pleased to find it as enjoyable as we remembered. Were greeted warmly, and taken good care of, upon arrival by Will & Curry (carts). Course was mostly cart path only due to ongoing rains throughout the week before so pace of play was very slow. However, it was truly worth the waits as Waterlefe is one of the more scenic and interesting courses you will ever play. Bring your ‘A’ game plus extra balls. Highly recommend this course and hope to be able to play there again soon.
AWSOME Golf
First time playing the course and we have nothing bad to say about it. Course is in excellent condition. Back 9 have some challenging holes where course management is critical. We’re average golfers but the tee options fit all levels. Highly recommend
Outstanding
It was my first time on the course and before play began we were encouraged by the staff to play the white tees. I will come back and play a second round from the blue or black tees but the white tees were excellent. Knowing the course layout is very beneficial especially on the back nine where there are blind shots
Fairway's, greens and tee boxes were well manicured and the river holes were awesome to play.
New to Manatee
Heard lots of great things about this course and it didn’t disappoint. Fairways were green cut. Greens were fast and pins were challenging. Overall an amazing round that was cut short due to inclement weather conditions. Pro shop workers comped the next round. Will definitely be back and look forward to playing the back 9.
Great layout
Great course. Restaurant food was very good. Service was awesome.
Beautiful Course Great Conditions
Sorry we were cut short by weather wanted to play all 18 it was so nice!
It’s a very challenging course!
There’s a lot of pluses here. The course is very challenging, staff is friendly and the dining happy hour is great with good 1/2 price appetizers. The driving range has good balls but limited targets off the matts. The putting green and chipping practice are sub par. Carts are good but small screen gps with no blue tooth. The course is a beautiful lay out with mature trees and greenery and very scenic cart paths with beautiful bridges throughout the course. Unfortunately, the greens were just punched and the fairways had a lot of dry spots with patchy grass. We have been in a drought which could be a lot of the reason for the patchiness. Overall, it has some benefits and is worth playing. Shout out to Britt at the bar, great service and great food recommendations.
Every nice round on a great course!
Challenging but very enjoyable course. The conditions are impressive given that we're undergoing drought restrictions.
The Staff and facilities are great.
