Heritage Harbour Golf Club

About
Heritage Harbour Golf Club (formerly known as Stoneybrook Golf Club at Heritage Harbour) plays through a landscape highlighted by mature, wooded wetland preserves and ponds. The golf course plays through spacious residential corridors, creating strategic risk/reward holes. At approximately 7,100 yards, multiple tees allow the golf course to be enjoyed by players of all abilities. The golfer who succeeds at challenging the hazards and angles will be rewarded with the proper angle for the next shot and an opportunity for a birdie. Designed by Arthur Hills, one of the world's top golf course designers, Heritage Harbour Golf Club is located just a half mile east of I-75 at exit 220.

Embarrassing
What a huge disappointment this course has been the last two times I have played it. It is in such poor condition that it's almost unplayable. I used to love this course and the condition it was always in but each time I have played this course over the last 2-3 years it just gets worse and worse. Barren fairways, weeds everywhere, bunkers that haven't been attended to since probably the last time I played it and I don't mean raked, I mean maintained and manicured. Deep bunkers have the sides caving in and the edges can't even be defined. I hate to write such a bad review but other golfers need to be aware that the only value here is if you can get a sub $20 rate at this course because anything over that is robbery!
Nice outdoor pre- and post-golf amenities
They are trying hard to keep up this course! It just needs watering because fairways and most greens are dry.
Heritage Harbour Golf
Friendly atmosphere, decent course condition at an affordable price.

Dear Golfer,
Thanks for your review. We fully understand that Winter turf conditions can change dramatically when we have cold snaps and frost. Typical Bermuda Golf Course Turfgrass will turn off color yellow and rough can actually brown out with frost burn. This time of year, we actually only mow fairways about twice a month, they just don’t grow much at all from December thru February. Cart traffic from increased seasonal play factors in as well and keeps the turf compacted thus creating tighter lies. Fluffy fairway lies only exist where ryegrass overseed has been applied. We applied ryegrass overseed on Par 3 tee boxes and several weak turf green surrounds in November/December and those areas are greening up nicely to provide better conditions in the coming months.
Our focus during this time of the year is keeping the green rolling smooth and fast. With the notable exception on a few greens that had some heat stress in November, the green are rolling very true and fast. Customers have been extremely happy with the greens and surrounds. Our bunkers, yes they need total rebuilds to make them more playable. The course is reaching the 20 year old stage and we do have plans in the works for a suitable renovation in 2021 or 2022, the timing depends on our villa and hotel development project.
All in all, we know we have work to do, I assure you the list of work to be done never gets shorter, only longer. Of course we know we have to earn your business and we work hard to provide great customer service in the clubhouse grill, back patio halfway house, pro shop and cart staff experience.
Thank you, HHGC Mgmt

Good course for the price
The course is his for the price. It is tough shape. The greens are worn and need work. However the layout is good and fair. We would play it again at this price.

Beautiful course, good layout. Challenging, especially when not familiar.
Great course for the money.

You can tell it was a great course at one time, however that was then, now - the bunkers are in all the right place but are not maintained, more like mud bunkers, no grass on the fairways and every other green is just OK. Staff is terrific, do ar really nice job.

Great Track, Bad conditions
This is a course with a great layout. Arthur Hills is a great gold designer. But, the condition of the course leaves much to be desired. If you can put up with spotty greens, weeds everywhere, weeds in the the greens, then have fun. At present, there are much better facilities in the Sarasota area. Perhaps if they spend the time and money to improve it, I will come back and give it another try.

We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. We are going to pass on your feedback to the team. Thanks for visiting Heritage Harbour Golf Club, and we hope to see you again in the future.

Grass
Disappointed; played the course in the spring and it was in great condition.
It seems they have lost their greens and the sand traps were in terrible condition.

Pace of play terrible slow
I went there last Thursday and then Monday the pace of play is so slow where you can get a rythem and the ranger out there does nothing about it. Last Thursday it took me 5 hours and 15 minutes to get to 17 with the cart telling me it had it be returned so didn't even finish. Then Monday it took me 5 hours and 10 minutes probably won't go back just for the fact it takes so long and I have to wait a good 5-7 minute wait on every hole to tee off. They should really hurry the people that are holding two groups up on one hole. At one point on Monday there was us and two other groups waiting to tee off you think the rangers would do something.

Thank you for the 4-star rating. We would like to apologize for the pace of play issue you experienced. We always try to keep a great pace when having our golfers on the course. Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback as we will use your review to better the experience going forward. We hope you give us another try in the near future!
