Forty-Niner Country Club

Forty-niner is a well balanced layout of interesting holes suitable for players of all abilities. The course was cart path only the day I played due to recent overseeding. The fairways and greens were in very good condition.

The course will be great when the overseeding is complete and they mow all the long grass areas where you can lose your ball in the rough or even in parts of the fairways, especially since it’s cart path only for a while yet. Still fun though.

As typical this time of year in Tucson, the course was recovering from overseeding. Cart Path Only. The fairways are coming in nicely and the greens are good.

I know it's coming out of overseed but some fairways grass too high. Like 16. I didn't hit fairway and it was better I didn't. Few others too. Not fair golf. I was charged $35. With these conditions and cart path only probably $20 more reasonable.

There was 50 to 60 mph wind gusts, trees were braking, greens were littered with debris. Wasn’t able to golf, power went out and they closed. Want to be reimbursed for my t-time.

Really enjoy the course layout and staff. Plenty of tee options to suit all ranges of players. Conditions were a little rough due to the overseeding process. Would definitely return within the next year.

Greens were slow but the course was in nice shape.

The course conditions have been slowly getting better over the last year. The greens are still rock hard, but the conditions have gotten a lot better over the last year. Overseeding starts the day after I played, so I’m guessing they weren’t too worried about the conditions of some of the fairways. Some of the fairways were just completely overgrown and I couldn’t tell a difference between the rough and the fairway in several places. Hopefully the course will be in better shape after overseeding is done. I also hope that they punch the greens during this time as well. There is nothing worse than hitting the front of the green only to watch your ball rocket off the back of the green because it’s almost as hard as the cart path.

I’ll start by saying that the gentleman working the check In counter was very helpful, had a positive attitude, and willingness to help. The course however left a lot to be desired! I wasn’t expecting much with a price tag of $27 for a round, but the course needs a lot of work. If you decide to play a cheap round and don’t mind just ok course conditions then this is a good choice.

The course has a nice variety of holes and some scenic views. Depending on the tee that you choose it can be fairly easy or relatively difficult ... which makes it a fun course.

When we arrived, was told we’d play the back 9 twice due to an event that was taking place. No phone call, text or email stating such. The course was in bad shape. Overgrown, gnarly, and patchy rough. Bunkers had grass growing in them. The slow greens had dirt patches, divots and rivets. The layout was nice but the course fell short of being recommended by me. It’s a good course for beginners to learn on and for those who don’t keep score. Staff were accommodating.
