PMKC

A very challenging, interesting, and beautiful course. Nestled along the foothills with lots of interesting desert vegetation and upscale homes makes you forget how poorly you’re playing…haha! Guys at the golf shop and cart courtyard are always courteous, helpful and genuinely interested in our well being when we come there.

Bunkers

First off, I love this course, that being said, if you are going to have bunkers, put some sand in them. Hitting out of those bunkers in their current state is like hitting off of a concrete block. If you aren't going to keep them maintained, then make them grass.

Great layout and super greens

Must play course if the fees are less than $100........only complaint is the bunkers need more sand.....oh yeah....... some of the tee boxes were worn with not much grass.....certainly a top 5 public course in Tucson.........I thought it's in much better shape than Starrpass...

Great course Reasonable Spring Rates

I play here often and really like this course. Paid $70 and if rates were a little lower I would play here all the time.

Conditions were excellent, pace of play good and I love the layout, especially the Par 5's.

AZ National

Great challenging course. Staff is great. Conditions of the course are very good. My only negative would be lack of ball washers. Either have them on the course or mounted on the carts as it’s hard to keep the clubs clean in such a dry environment.

Fun course

This is one of my favorite courses in Tucson area. It’s to far away to play regularly but I do play quite often. Course is great except for the bunkers which need work. There are a lot of bunkers so this detracts from course.

Amazing views and challenging course

It was my first time playing at this course, the day was rather windy with strong gusts. The course layout is amazing, I had fun even I struggled with the game that day. Definitely want to play it again and asap.

How hard is it to fill traps with sand?

An otherwise great course is diminished by the lousy sand traps. I had read this in reviews, but it was a last minute reservation, and the price was not bad, so I forged ahead.

When the cart guy was strapping in my golf bag, I asked about the sand complaints. His response was that "we get a lot of golfers from California and they like to find something to complain about".

That seemed plausible until I got out on the course. The traps are essentially brown mud. One or two were a brown mix of sand and mud that played like firm sand. The rest were just plain mud bogs.

It's Arizona. It's not like they were dealing with a bunch of rain - it had been sunny all week. I really do not understand why they don't order a few truckloads of sand and fill the traps. It's mystifying.

Aside from that, the course is nice. It's somewhat target golf, but not too bad. Fairways and rough were in great shape.

They need more water jugs out on the course. I didn't see one until the 6th green. It's the desert, with afternoon temps over 100. Put out some more water.

Great course condition – except for sand traps

Beautiful Course… The fairways and greens are well maintained. However, I will not return anytime soon — or at least until I hear AZ National has added sand instead of dirt and rocks to the sand traps. Sand traps are thin and club bounces due to hard pan beneath thin top layer. I wouldn’t call it sand – more like “settled dirt“.
