Surfaces are not good
The grass is dead...you hit off hard pan everywhere. Tees are choppy. Greens are lightning quick but pretty true. I’m going to play courses that have grass in the fairway.
I want my money back!!!!!!!
The condition of this course was criminal!!! Especially for the price we had pay!!! HORRIBLE CONDITION!!! The worst condition I’ve played on in 30 plus years of golfing.
Not ready for the price.
Course was painted and still growing in.
Not worth $52 to play a course that was wet with painted tees and fairways. All green complexes were barely growing in. Super thin and the approaches were not mowed. Greens were fine for the time of year just not very consistent. I didn't feel the product was worth the price. And the tough thing was I really like this course usually.
Rip Off!
Booked a 4some over the phone for $25+tax. Arrived at the course and they had the tee time reserved but said the fee was $38+. Explained we were quoted $25 to no avail.
Course in horrible condition at any price. Tees overgrown or bare dirt. Fairways weeds and bare dirt and wet underneath. Every shot a mud ball. A 3 some two groups ahead of us and starter had a single playing right before us. Go figure.
Driving range off mats. Artificial grass too thick so ball sits down.
Will not be back. Many other Tucson area courses in much better condition, better rates and more welcoming. At least the hospitality cart woman was very attentive and efficient.
FORE
The course played well, was very impressed with the staff at the golf shop. Course is in decent shape for this time of year!
Great day and Great Course
The course was in good shape compared to some of the other local courses at this time. Greens and fairways were nice. Never saw a cart service for drinks though, was warm but nice day.
Come for the greens
Tee and fairways OK, green but a bit rough. Pace of play surprised me with marginal waiting. Greens pretty smooth with few brown or bare spots. A bit slow but better than many other courses. Sand bunkers thin and hard with little depth, a shame, as you can’t hit the shot you need based on their firmness....avoid them, I guess. Overall, good experience and excellent clubhouse bar and restaurant as well.
Summer Golf in Tucson
Challenging course for me, I'm 74 and am about a 17 handicap golfer. Yes boxes need attention. I played with a couple of nice people but they played slower than I usually play. Still had a good experience, the staff is always helpful and very friendly. Fairway grass is very short with a lot of hard spots. Probably due to not dry conditions and not many people on staff this time of year. Better conditions at a cheaper price close by.
Maintenance
Randolph North is usually in good shape, even during the summer. Tee boxes were aerated, as well as the majority of the fairways.
Course will be fine in a month or so but for now it’s pretty beat up.
Typical Muni
Cloudy, windy day, but enjoyable. The dormant bermuda rough is nonexistent. Nothing but hard, dry dirt. Greens rolled fast although several had weeds popping up. Fairways were well conditioned and hard so you got a lot of roll. Staff was friendly which is definitely an improvement for a City of Tucson run course. What's up with the range balls? Don't think I have every seen worse. They must have come from a defunct putt putt course.
