About
Elks Run Golf Club in Batavia was designed by Greg Norman. It sprawls across 163 lush and secluded acres where golfers will be hard-pressed to find a home anywhere close to the course. Norman carefully utilized the natural terrain, incorporating the meandering creek on several holes and also adding a few holes that venture up the side of a hill. Thanks to the dramatic elevation changes, there are some tees where your ball seems to stay in the air forever. The first nine is more open with a traditional links-style layout that then leads to the more densely wooded back nine. In addition to the trees and other natural hazards, there is also an unusually thick first cut of rough as well as tall stands of native grasses.

Golfer Reviews
Fix your pitch marks!!
I love elks run. It’s great layout and fun to play. The greens are beat up worse than I’ve ever seen them. They roll fast which I prefer, but every single putt has at least one unfixed pitch mark in the line of the putt.
They should start handing out repair tools with every tee time. But also, 75% of the rounds I have played here don’t have a ranger. When they do have a ranger they only sit by the first tee. Send them around and get on these hacks about repairing the greens. Have not seen any other course with this issue this year.
Pace of play is atrocious!!
For a course of this supposed stature, you would think there would be a ranger keeping up pace of play. There was a foursome ahead of us getting absolutely wasted and jamming up the entire course. Although I saw 2 rangers at beginning of day, none could be bothered to come out and address the situation. For the price I expect more. Won’t be back for certain.
Pace
Horrendous pace. Holiday weekend don’t was expected to be busy. But a foursome in front of my group had slowed everything down to the point of no one being within 3 holes in front of them. Over 5 hours to play 15 holes before we ended up just leaving. They wouldn’t let anybody play through. No Marshall to say anything to them or anything. Just stuck. More than once there was 2-3 groups on the tee box waiting to tee off because of them.
still some work to do
I see that they’ve finally started to fix up all the bunkers, which were in really poor condition. They still need to pay attention to the GPS units in the carts, they are not calibrated properly in regards to what areas you can access, they stop you extremely short of where the actual restricted areas are, real pain in the butt, leaving you far away from your ball in many instances and slowing down play.
will play again
Pace of play was bit slow. People don't fix divots. Not enough sand! Wouldn't walk it - there are a couple of long hikes and up hillsides.
Nice Course
Fun course. Just gets backed up easily and pace was slow.
Great Course and layout
Always enjoy playing this course..Greens were very good too
