Elks Run Golf Club in Batavia was designed by Greg Norman. It sprawls across 163 lush and secluded acres where golfers will be hard-pressed to find a home anywhere close to the course. Norman carefully utilized the natural terrain, incorporating the meandering creek on several holes and also adding a few holes that venture up the side of a hill. Thanks to the dramatic elevation changes, there are some tees where your ball seems to stay in the air forever. The first nine is more open with a traditional links-style layout that then leads to the more densely wooded back nine. In addition to the trees and other natural hazards, there is also an unusually thick first cut of rough as well as tall stands of native grasses.

Worth your time

I actually drove over three hours to come play this course.

The layout was gorgeous. If you play the correct tee boxes, the course plays exactly like it should. I ended up in a couple of bunkers on the drive and a couple around the greens. Soft sand, but easy to get out of. Had no issues navigating the course. Greens were in pristine condition. This course is very well taken care of. I would recommend you playing this course.

Good course but no ranger?

Pace of play was out of control. Had 3 dweebs holding up 5 groups with no ranger to snitch to.

Conditions were fair. Tee boxes were destroyed.

Layout was challenging but fun. Would recommend, but best to go early

Great Friday Golf

I love playing Elks Run Golf Course. It is one of my favorites. Surprisingly, it wasn't as busy as I thought it would be on a perfect weather day like today. Great day to work from the course! Very excited that there was a cart girl. Staff was friendly as usual.
