Windswept Dunes Golf Course
About
Windswept Dunes Golf Club tumbles across a dramatic landscape covered with white sand dunes accented by lush green fairways. The golf course appeals to players of all skill levels thanks to player-friendly features that are balanced by strategically placed hazards. Although each hole shares the characteristic of being lined with dunes, they each maintain a unique character. The rolling fairways are often wide and generous off the tee and the sand dunes, which stretch from tee too green, are only punishing of the most errant of shots. The approach shots though are as demanding as the tee shots are forgiving. There are numerous bunkers fiercely guarding the large, smooth greens. While the occasional water hazard comes into play, the bunkers are the most challenging element of Windswept Dunes Golf Club.

GREAT!
I have played Windswept Dunes many times over the past several years. I have not seen it in better shape than it currently is. Doug and team have done a great job with this course. The course is very playable depending on which tees you play. It will stretch out for any player's ability. The fairways are generous and the greens are large but easily 3 putted if you're not on your game. If you haven't played Windswept and have been in the PCB and Destin area, you are missing out. Give it a try. You'll be glad you did.
A must play
Windswept Dunes was an awesome experience from start to finish. The course was in excellent shape and the entire staff was incredibly friendly and helpful throughout the day. Pace of play was only slightly slow early on with just a few minutes of waiting on some tee boxes, but nothing worth complaining about at all. The staff kept everyone updated and did a great job getting things moving, and by the back 9 we were playing without waiting on anyone.
The driving range and practice putting green were both very nice and made for a great warmup before the round. Overall, this is a course I would highly recommend to anyone in the area. Definitely looking forward to coming back.
kc boys
Love dealing with this course. The proshop attendants are the most helpful, polite young men we have ever encountered...Thank you guys for your help.
Challenging golf course!
Five sets of tees to choose from! Large greens test your putting stroke and green reading ability.
Not sure I had a straight putt in 18 holes.
It was fun!

Great course, fantastic conditions, little pricey
Played in early may, one of earliest tee times of the day, course is in great shape, unique links-style course, has a grass range which was nice. Range balls are not included in the green fees even though nearly $150 per person, still had to pay $12 for a bucket which is a little frustrating. Would be a bit more reasonable if was closer to $100 area. None the less a great course, would play again.
Has potential
I was really excited about this course since it has some pretty great reviews however, I don’t think it lives up to the hype, FOR NOW. There were a few issues that I don’t think are standard problems for the course, which if fixed I’d be happy to amend my review.
Let’s talk about the good stuff first. First and foremost, the staff was all great. Nice people, kind, and helpful. The practice facilities, clubhouse and on course bathrooms are all nice and well maintained. They have a solid driving range and short game area that reflects the kinds of shots you’ll see on the course. Plenty of breaky putts and sand as you’d imagine.
The course itself was in pretty good condition. Good fairways, well maintained bunkers, decent rough.
The front 9 and back 9 certainly have different vibes. The back reminds me a lot of courses in Monterey like Poppy Hills, Bayonet/Black Horse, etc since the holes are lined with beautiful tall pine trees. You definitely feel more isolated on a golf course, whereas the front 9 is more amongst some houses. Course layout is solid. Some challenging holes but fair. The toughest part is the greens. Tough pin positions and big breaks made this tough to 2 putt.
Now the bad parts. One of the first knocks against the course is the price for a bucket of balls. A small bucket, which is the only size they have, was $12. The next strike against this course was the condition of the greens. I didn’t know beforehand but my playing partners said there was a fungus they had to deal with somewhat recently, and the greens have been trying to recover since. It definitely showed. Certain greens had big dry spots with no grass while almost all had some kind of spotting across the entire putting surface.
Getting consistent speeds and reads was difficult given the condition of the greens.
The final and biggest knock was the price tag for the round. I bought a hot deal on Golfnow for $120.
The course wasn’t worth the price, which is my main gripe especially with the condition of the greens. A true price tag would be somewhere between $60 and at the most $80 in my opinion.
Given all that, I wouldn’t recommend coming here until the greens recover and/or prices drop to match the current conditions. Hopefully it’ll get back to it’s fighting shape since this is a fun layout and challenging course.
Good Day ay Windswept Dunes!
My favorite course in the area! Always in good shape. You have options off the tee in which way you want to play the hole. Pick a tee that fits your distance off the tee. You have seven tee options. The greens are large and challenging. Fun to play!
Awesome Course
Course was in great shape and very well maintained. Staff was over the top friendly. Will definitely play more rounds here.
A Must Play!
I played with my brothers and although a little pricey, it was a really good course. From tee to green, the course was well manicured. We will be playing it again next year for sure during our visit to Palm City Beach.
Best public course in the 30a/PCB area
After a few different locals told me about needing to check this course out, I finally did so this trip to the beach and boy was I glad. This place is long, challenging, and pristine considering how dry it has been lately. Love this place and will definitely be back!
Great Course
I thoroughly enjoyed this challenging course. The wide fairways and undulating greens made for a great day of golf. Kudos to the staff for their efforts in making a worthwhile experience for all participants.
If not for the greens…
Great layout. It’ll let you bite off as much as you want from 6 sets of tees. The greens were really slow and in poor condition. You’d expect better greens given the green fees. Disappointed.
Great course!
Very friendly staff! Was able to take my 7 yr old son out and had a great day! Course didn’t have a lot of play as it was midday on a Wednesday however it is a great course! Did not use the Driving range and short game areas but they were very large and would be great for practicing!
Fun, Challenging Golf
One of the best kept secrets of the Emerald Coast. Great layout, can be as challenging as you want it based tee box choice. Good condition (thinking will be great as summer sets in), will definitely be back.
Vacation with friends
Have played this course several times before. Actually this week we played it twice. The first time was on the 15th and everything was great except the greens. They were slow but then played again. Played on the 20th and they rolled great. Guess they just hadn’t mowed them. They have always been great before. Definitely recommend.
Great-Long Course
Great Layout. The greens are the only downfall. Majority of the greens were not rolled and were inconsistent and bumpy. Would have received a complete 5 star rating except for the quality of the greens.
