Santa Rosa Golf & Beach Club

About
Santa Rosa Golf & Beach Club's most striking feature is the beautiful location. Situated along South Walton's pristine white sand beaches, the course has two holes that back up to the sparkling blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Carefully routed through natural wildlife habitats and native vegetation, the course is a member of Audubon International and the meticulous care taken when crafting the course has earned Golf Magazine's praise as the "purest golf in the Florida panhandle." The layout appeals to players of all skill levels with several risk-reward holes and seven different sets of tees. Accuracy will be generously rewarded but you won't be punished if you decide to play it safe. Water hazards come into play frequently and there are strategically placed bunkers that will test your shot making.

VERY POOR SERVICE!
I played this course for the first time on July 3rd and I will never go back. The service and staff were incredibly rude and one of the worst experiences I have ever had. I showed up 10 minutes EARLY to my tee-time and the first thing out of the manager in the clubhouse was that I "was late and this was completely unacceptable behavior". I was also told that I would be playing alone because "members do not like playing with non-members". It was the most insulting thing I have heard especially since they new I was a guest trying out a new course for the first time. I felt very uncomfortable over my entire experience. The course itself was in decent shape, but the greens were starting to dry out and turn brown. The pictures online are also very misleading and are not the scenic views you would expect. I quite playing after 6 holes, turned around and left. Overall, this was an absolutely horrible experience and I highly encourage anyone looking to play in the area to find another course such as Regatta Bay. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COURSE AT ALL.
VERY POOR SERVICE - DO NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE!

$40-$50 course for $100
We were stuck and needed to finish early, so we decided to play SRB. Used to love to play it when you could play for $50, but it’s $95 + tax now. NOT WORTH IT. You would think there would be towels on the carts for at least 2 people, a cooler on the cart filled with ice and water and be service oriented. It’s like playing a muni anywhere. Redneck land.
Good golf course great value
I don't think this course is on Golfnow, but it is a good course.
Challenging course
After playing few flat courses in Destin, this course was a pleasant surprise. Each hole has character to enjoy. Well maintained fast green was excellent condition
Nice course and ran well.
Very much enjoyed Santa Rosa Beach Golf Club today.
Very nice layout and well maintained. It was in great shape considering it is late November.
Carts and amenities are a little dated and give the old country club feel. But course makes up for it. Best greens in the area by far! They were like playing a TPC course in a more weather friendly area.
Staff was very friendly and they stagger tee times just right so no waiting or being pushed. Felt like a member today. Thanks guys.
Consider charging a little less in the off season for public. I’d play there much more often if it was more comparable price with other local courses.
Glad I booked on GolfNow
The full price for the day was $106.00 I paid $53.00 via GolfNow and that was probably $30.00 too much. The greens had been sanded recently, there was a hole under construction and the course was not in very good shape. All this with no disclaimer or heads up when booking the tee time. I did like the general layout and the staff was extremely courteous and friendly. I will not be back anytime soon.
Very enjoyable
Was running late for an early morning Hot Deal. Pro Shop staff was very kind, sent me to the range to warm up and called to have the golf cart sent to the range. Starter was very pleasant. Paired with a member and two other guests and had a delightful round. The course is not long, and there aren't gimmicks or tricks. The front nine is straightforward--love the par 3 8th. The back nine felt shorter and has a few more blind shots and hard doglegs, and a lot more water in play. The fairways aren't wide and the rough is harsh. Greens were in great shape. Overall, I loved my experience at Santa Rosa. I would play it again.
Great course!
Conditions were above average. The only knock was that the greens had a thin layer of sand on them, perhaps from a recent topdressing, but it did not really take away from your putting experience. The rest of the course is in fantastic shape. I would honestly not recommend this course to high handicappers, because if you hit it in the rough you will have a miserable time at this course, because the rough was not only thick, but it was extremely difficult to find your ball, even if you are right on top of it. I played with a 2 handicap player today who was off of his game, and he spent most of the day in the rough and shot 94. Any questions?
They have a nice pro shop and clubhouse, and plenty of options as far as food goes. I even took advantage of their locker room for a shower, and this place is definitely as good as a private club as far as taking care of their guests.
I wouldn't hesitate to return here if the opportunity presents itself.
Rude Marshall
One Bad Apple can spoil the whole bunch. The Marshall was exceedingly rude. He came up to my group in the clubhouse 30 minutes after our round was complete to criticize our pace of play.. We finished in under four and a half hours with two rain delays. To be fair, the rest of the staff were quite friendly and accommodating. Nevertheless, this will be the last time I visit Santa Rosa Golf Club. Even if we took 6 hours to play, no Marshall should ever treat players like that.
First time here.
I enjoyed playing here very much. Good mix of short and long holes. Although several spots on the course were quite damp and spongy.
Good Course
Interesting layout with some easy and some challenging holes. Greens are aerated this time of year so putting is no fun at all. Fairways and tees are impeccably maintained.
Didn't see beverage cart today after hole #2. That was tough on a hot afternoon.
Love Santa Rosa
Nice layout with some easier holes but plenty of challenges also, especially on the back 9 with all the water. Fairway and tee boxes were outstanding. Greens were aerated in last 2 weeks so putting was problematic and frustrating. I was warned on GolfNow before booking that the aeration had occurred so it was my choice to play anyway. Pace of play was really good. I finished in 3 hours. Look forward to returning to Santa Rosa soon.
Nice Panhandle course
Second time playing it, first time with my wife. Very nice course, pretty, well-groomed, bunkers were good, greens in nice shape.
Nice track
Great pace of play. Being a single was able to play through several groups. 3 1/4 hours Nice friendly staff. Finished last 4 holes with a local and his guest. Very nice. Would play again and maybe not hit the water on the back after knowing course.
