About
Honoring the wishes of Lela and Charles Hilton, Legacy Golf Club is named in honor of their beloved son "Chip." He started playing daily at age 9 with a genuine love and excitement for the sport. He was on the Bay High School golf team, apprenticing with golf pro-Kenny Lind and made golf his vocation. As a professional golf instructor, he taught his students invaluable life lessons, emphasizing that golf is not a game of perfection but a comeback. He also believed golf was more than just a game; it was full of essential life skills such as patience, perseverance, determination, and overcoming obstacles and setbacks.
The golf club, established in 1965, is a championship course with challenging greens designed to test golfers with even the sharpest short-game skills. The fairways are generously sized with lakes and white sand bunkers that fiercely guard the elevated greens. Players should be prepared to use every club in their bag. The golf course is challenging but fair and enjoyable, making it a good test of skill without inciting frustration. Its playability, enhanced with three sets of tees, has made it one of Florida's most popular tracks. Legacy Golf Club also boasts extensive practice facilities, including a lighted driving range, chipping green, expansive putting green, Executive Course, and Bar and Grille.

Over priced for the course but the same can be said for all the courses in Panama City Beach. Resort community with only 3 courses that take advantage of tourists
needs improvement
I found the course conditions to not be in very good shape. The fairways were sparse and did not appear to be growing. the Greens were hard and crusty.
Winter Florida Golf
Extremely dry, little grass on fairways, greens had weeds and not growing, way overpriced.
Good layout
The greens are almost gone. I have faith they will get them back into shape.
Worst Greens Ever Played
The course, fairways and tee boxes, are in good shape. But, the greens are, bar none, the very worst greens I have ever played. They are inconsistent, some have weeds that can re-direct putts. Some of the greens hardly have any grass. It is a pretty course, and it's really a bummer that the greens are in such poor shape, because otherwise it's a great course.
Friendly staff average course.
Greens were non existent. Very little grass on any on them. Rest of course was in ok shape. Not worth the price point. Friendly staff and decent course layout.
Good course, bad greens
The course is a good layout with great green complexes and in past years, played well even in Jan-Feb. Unfortunately the greens are in terrible shape this year. The poa annua is taking over a number of greens, there are large dead areas and black fungus patches throughout the course. These issues will need some serious remediation or the greens will be lost. Not in $100 a round condition.
Improvement needed
I play this course almost every week. I like the layout of the course. The staff is very friendly and customer-focused.
I have noticed maintenance is ongoing, but several of the greens and the edge of some bunkers need immediate attention.
Greens were rough
We had a very good round yesterday at Legacy golf course. The greens were rough but the layout was great and we look forward to playing there again in the future!
First time here
Course was in good shape. Staff was very friendly. Asked about playing the par 3 course and they wanted $35. A little too pricey there.
Good course
A couple of greens still have a fair amount of POA on them. Otherwise the course was in good shape.

Very disappointed in condition of course, particularly the "greens". They were cut so short, down to dirt. A few had a lot of Joanna making them slow and bumpy. Not a $75 course.
very slow play
why they put out 2 fivesomes is beyond me. It resulted in a 5 hour round.
Fivesomes and poor condition
The customer service was great. With that said courses allowing fivesomes on busy days is unacceptable. The condition of the fairways and greens were pretty awful also. Charging over $100 on weekdays you would expect a lot more. We quit after 9 holes
