Horrible pace
Though we were able to start on time, things went south quickly. We had three groups ahead of us that played incredibly slowly. One group was smoking and drinking and seemed to be partying rather than playing. The skill levels were so inconsistent between groups that better golfers had to wait over ten minutes between holes. By the third whole, we were so bunched up that those waiting began to bail to other holes.
We decided to skip two of the last holes and still those 7 holes took two hours. We never saw a Marshall so nothing was done to remedy the situation.
Please either put more space between groups or find a way to encourage golf etiquette. This was a very negative experience.
Greens
Greens used to be some of the nicest in the area. They have gone down hill slightly. Very bumpy. Looks like they didn't come back well from aerification.
First Ace
Got to get out with my son for a day and we were on 17th hole when I hit a 7 iron on a 131 yd par 3. Ball actually went straight and then we lost it over what we thought was the crest of the green so we assumed it over-shot the hole. We got up to the green and saw a ball on the backside so figured it rolled past. Turned out it wasn't my ball so my son went to the hole and there it was!
Recently punched greens
I always enjoy this course and the free sleeve of golf balls is a bonus. $5 additional for pro-v’s. Some fairways were sloppy due to all the rain we’ve had but were better than I expected. No standing water. I didn’t know about the greens and probably would have waited to go back there. Got paired up with two “men’s club” members who turned out to be great guys and added to our enjoyment. (shoutout to Steve & Steve!).
Very wet in winter
This is a good track with good practice facilities and a nice restaurant. The problem is it’s a very wet track in winter. This includes standing water in places on the fairways and greens that become uneven due to soft surfaces, ball marks and footprints. On a cold sunny day, it’s nice to be out there, regardless.
