South/North at Evergreen Golf Club
About
Evergreen Golf Club in Elkhorn is one of the area's premier golfing destinations with 27 holes of championship golf that provide three challenging, but playable 18-hole combinations. The nines, East, South, and, North are routed through mature trees and natural wetlands. The South/North combinations begins with the club's original nine. Water comes into play on some of the course's toughest holes and there are also numerous bunkers strategically placed around the greens. The penultimate hole of the golf course is one of the most memorable. North's challenging eighth offers an interesting risk-reward opportunity. Big hitters will reap the benefits if they successfully drive the green, but an errant shot will be met with out-of-bounds to the left and bunkers to the right, turning an easy par 4 into a bogey.

Evergreen Round
My wife and I played as a twosome. We followed 3 other sets of twosomes. We ended up waiting on just about every shot. The course was in very nice shape but the greens were as slow as molasses. Thus the only “good” 4 star review.
Ron Romanelli
This place was emaculat. Green rolled true . Fairways always cut and in top condition. It's obvious that this team is doing it right. Keep up the great work.
I have no problem playing this place one of my favorites.
Wonderful
First time playing and I loved the course
Great conditions as well as layout
Great course
Course was an excellent condition and pace of play was wonderful. Staff is very nice and friendly. I’ll be back!
Played in 3 hours 20 minutes on a Sunday afternoon. Course in nice condition.
Pleasantly surprised
No carts off the path was to be expected as this was the only course open in the area due to the heavy rains. The greens and fairways were excellent as we played east then north. We also played best ball to avoid all the walking from the path. The biggest change were the nasty people no longer running the place. the lady at the front desk questioning you for payment and the walkie talkie marshals weren't to be found. Then to top it off two nice girls supplying us with beverages and the bunker was open for brats. Yes there are hidden holes but play straight and scoring is average. Greens were running fast but overall it was a great day. They still sneak people out ahead of you on the turn so be ready to stop at nine and find two foursomes in front of u backed up on hole 10. Thus, the reason for their naming it ever "green". Enjoy seeing some of the old standard signage...the people that live around like to scatter signs every 5 fr to tell u your trespassing. I'll add the fun signs to give you a flavor of evergreen.
Very congenial staff.
Play on first nine was slow and a staff person, Sandy, suggested we could play holes out of order which allowed us to finish nine much more quickly. She checked back with us to see how we enjoyed the round. Very nice course and very good people.
Lakes Area's Hidden Gem
Evergreen is a fantastic track. Played all 27 holes and were wowed by the playing conditions for the price. With all the other Lakes Area Courses being $100+, Evergreen excels in the price for conditions bracket. Can get on for significantly cheaper than nearby courses and conditions rival those of much more expensive tee times. Definitely worth a drive, even if just visiting Lake Geneva from Chicago, Milwaukee, Madison, etc!
Fantastic fun. Especially check out their scrambles!
Aggressive staff made our group feel unwelcome and uncomfortable
Booked an early tee time for two and was paired with another twosome which was understandable. None of us were turning down invitations to the tour, but we were all average golfers. A twosome started behind us and predictably we were asked to let them pass on the fourth hole, but that cost is ~15 minutes waiting for them to play through. Rangers were HOUNDING us the entire rest of the day and that didn't make us play any faster to say the least. At the turn the starter kindly reminded me we were 25 minutes behind his schedule and sent us to wait 30 minutes to start on our back nine behind three other groups that were queued up to start on the east course.
Won't be playing here again. Very unenjoyable experience and very expensive.
