Montrose Golf Links - 1562 Course

Zero for customer service. Unfriendly pro in the pro shop. No hello, welcome, etc, all he said was play off mats, even in first cut. Grumpy man.

We asked if there was a nearby driving range as we were about an hour early, he said no. Found on google maps that there is one a 2 minute drive away. Bunkers all out of play, tee mats shoddy and uneven. Definitely not worth £55

Good course all greens in play friendly pro and players

Really enjoyed the course, was in a great condition and we were lucky the weather was good on the day, will definitely play again soon

Good course only problem was temporary greens but like this course, play it a lot during winter, usually an update on the course every morning on their website but couldn’t see one this time but like that usually

Even though it was a shorter course because of winter tees, the course itself was well set up on proper greens, greens a little bit slower than in the summer but in great condition, will be back to play again

Lots of history to this course - leave time before or after for a meal/drink/tea at the Royal Montrose Mercantile Club. The course was in great shape. Although some of the fairways were wide, this course was far from easy! Lots of bumps and rolls, trees and bramble bushes and of course, deep bunkers. A little disconcerting, are several tee-boxes for the next hole situated right beside the green of the last hole, causing you to wait to hit-up to the green. That said, a good experience.

All round excellent course in great condition with very good greens a true links .

Brilliant Old fashioned Links course. Great condition and greens were fantastic. First time I’ve played it and would highly recommend you play it if you want to play a traditional Links course

Traditional links golf. It was a calm and sunny day. Some very nice holes that tested all aspects of your game. Good course layout in great condition. Typical undulating expansive links greens. Good test of golf that I would recommend to fellow golfers. I would go back again.

As a single player it can often be frustrating when a course is slow, but I was around in just over 3 hours, hardly having to wait despite plenty of groups in front. Course was in great conditions with some challenging tee shots, greens were perfect and just enough breeze coming off the sea to make you think.

Have to say this was probably my best round ever - shot 6 over. The putter worked for once.....

Had a good day again at this classic course. Tests all aspects of your game. Greens were testing, once you got there. Classic views . Tough course but enjoyable. Clubhouse & staff very friendly. Would recommend as price was well worth the money.
