Great course - didn't know fairway mats were needed
We arrived at the course to find the 'fairway mats in use' sign was up, but we hadn't brought any as this was not communicated in anyway, and the clubhouse was shut with no one in sight. Luckily a couple of members arrived shortly after and when we asked them about it they just said to us to play on as we had not been told and done everything we could otherwise. It would just be useful if this was communicated in some way before our arrival at the course. Otherwise, we had a splendid round on a beautiful, well kept course (and made extra sure to be careful to replace any divots and repair any pitch marks thoroughly!)
A windy day
Waiting to play Edzell for a while and the course was really nice. The weather was poor which was a shame. The course is well laid out and was in good condition for the time of year. Unfortunately there were 5 holes on winter’s which spoiled the day. This course would be nice if they were all on. I would say it’s worth playing, but there aren’t any wow holes, but it’s nice enough. The pro was friendly enough and the waitress was really nice and helpful. The members were also very helpful. If your in area Edzell is worth a visit.
Friendly with good facilities
Lovely course. Easy to navigate, fun to play, with enough challenges. No water features so no lost balls! Very friendly staff and players.
Club
I’ve never done a review but must say our experience at Edzell golf club tonight was so good thanks to Linda bar staff🙂and giving as always a happy ambiance..there was a farmers mental health charity event on..very busy…which myself and husband wasn’t aware of.Big thanks to the staff who work so hard and accmadated everyone in the club house
Very good course now
Has always been a good course but now up a notch, far better looking course with the extreme loss of trees deliberate and storm. Virtually all good trees still there and fortunately thousands of ugly non native trees gone.
Several holes very well tidied up, varied and interesting recommended
Heavenly Experience
Great course great greenstaff, magnificent condition of greens and bunkers. Really warm welcome and well looked after the round as well. Doesntbreally come any better. Thanks to all at Edzell GC
Fantastic course,and made to feel welcome
Played Edzell today and can say it was a joy from start to finish. The proshop (which is really well stocked) warmly welcomed me and set me off for a fantastic round on Edzell. The course was in great condition, greens were great and every bunker was raked and cntained sand that was consistent thoughout. The green staff of which they were quite a few,were all very courteous and mindful of players around them, On finishing, I was again greated in the clubhouse by the steward where I had a medicinal pint and replayed my round in my head ! Great day and all credit to all the staff.
Definitely Return
Suffering from the effects of the storm although the staff working hard to get it all reopened. The course is a good challenge with amazing scenery.
Staff were very friendly, will return in the better weather.

A great layout with challenges for players
The course is in a great location with amazing staff and facilities. The course is relatively flat most of the part but has some interesting and challenging elevations with several blind shots. Highly recommend this golf course for all levels of golfers.
Edzell - old course
5 stars for Edzell - the course is always in excellent condition - pro shop staff very friendly and recommend the clubhouse for before or after food and refreshments. You wont be disappointed when you visit Edzell.
Excellent
Course in excellent condition for time of year. Very friendly in Pro shop and post round in Clubhouse. Will definitely play again.
Etiquette
The professional couldn’t have been nicer in the shop but that’s where it ended. After playing the first 3 holes quickly, I caught up with a fourball of older gentlemen. I then waited on every shot until I finished my round! Not once did they even acknowledge I was there.
Edzell golf trip
Course was fab, unfortunately the greens had been worked on so greens not at their best. Clubhouse & pro shop staff were very friendly & welcoming, food was excellent
