Nice and worth the $$.
Was on my way to VA and strategically planned my travel so I could stop in Rocky Mount and play Belmont. I was super excited and read all the reviews and was sure that the course would live up to the expectation.. first off I get there and go to the pro shop. No great greeting. The manager was in no way excited to see a player or greet them in anyway. I paid for my round and had to come back to the pro shop to get a bucket so I could warm up… Eight dollars for a bucket of balls is ridiculous. I had booked the 750 teatime in order to be able to play with folks as I’m a single and when I get to the first tea box, a four rolls up it says where the 750 and they had originally booked three and but they had gotten a fourth one so I could go play by myself… Not super awesome wasn’t excited about that. So I was playing by myself until a twosome in front of me wake me up and I played the rest of the round with them after the third hole… Father and son absolutely great experience.
Overall, I’ve ranked this course a solid, four out of five… But the staff at the pro shop could definitely be more friendly and they should advertise that there is a driving range instead of just a Matt in a net to hit into from the previous reviews that I had read.
Fairways in Rough Shape
I've played here for years, but this visit was a disappointment. The course had recently been aerated, which seemed unusual for this time of year, and the fairways were in terrible shape—mostly dirt, extremely dry, with only patches of matted grass remaining. In many spots, you were actually better off hitting from the rough than the fairway.
The greens were the bright spot of the day. They were in good condition and rolled well, and the pace of play was reasonable.
What really made the experience frustrating was the customer service. The person working the front desk was rude, cranky, and unprofessional. Between the poor course conditions and the unfriendly welcome, the overall experience was not what I've come to expect from this course.
I've enjoyed playing here for years, but after this visit I'll be looking at other courses before returning.
Hidden Jem
What a treat! This is a hidden jem! Locals, know about it, at least I hope they do. Or if you’re heading North or South on I95 and you have the clubs traveling with you. Get off on the appropriate exit and play this golf course. Great staff! Great track! Great conditions! Great Value!
Would recommend to EVERYONE!

Hidden Gem
This course is one of my favorites in the area. Massive greens which can make putting tough. Fairways are wide. Course is challenging yet fun. Only downside is that there is no turn to get drinks so prepare at the beginning.
Awesome course
Great course overall only complaint is that you can’t get to the clubhouse on the tire you have to play all 18.
As usual a Great Golf Day
I know some people don’t like the fact that this course doesn’t return to the club house after the front nine. But if you want to play a PGA level course in a small town then this is it!

Greens were excellent, fairways were not as plush as one would hope, tee boxes were good.
People make the place…
Can’t say I put in a pressed shirt and clean my golf shoes to be treated like a second class citizen.
I’m a retired educator of 35 years so I’ve been around and I have to say I haven’t been treated this poorly at a golf club ever… when you have no starter things can get off track and telling me to carry my bags 100 yards to the putting green where another golfer has the cart and I have no idea who he/she is can be a bit demanding. A simple fix is let me drive you over and hook you up with your playing partner. The atmosphere of ego and just plain obnoxiousness towards me as a golf now player was evident…while I do realize the course was busy that doesn’t excuse the lack of courtesy at check in. Talk about a triple bogey to start a round!!!!
A hidden gem
This course is a hidden gem. The course was in great condition. The ladies at the restaurant were fantastic, that was one of the best sandwiches I have ever had at a golf course and the prices are very reasonable. This course will be put on my list for "play again".
Bring a cooler
Course is in great shape overall but no beverage cart service and only 1 working water fountain.
Awesome Course
Great layout, beautiful course and super friendly staff. Can't wait to go back!
Test your golf game!
Considering winter conditions including recent rain the coarse was good. Carts restricted to rough but still provided a good opportunity to play a round on a quality coarse.
