About
Callahan Golf Links in Waleska possesses a rich history of more than 150 years of farming and family ownership. Before being converted into a golf course, the site functioned as a farm from the Civil War until World War II. When creating the course, the natural beauty of the landscape was carefully preserved. As its name would suggest, the layout is a true links design with carefully placed pot bunkers and thick cuts of rough. Water is barely present but there are plenty of other challenges throughout that will quickly make you forget that fact. It is gentle enough for beginners but the back tees will challenge more experienced players. Golfers can also work on their short game on the chipping and putting greens or warm up on the driving range. The affordable rates make Callahan Golf Links an excellent value.

Very good value overall
Decent layout, greens were immaculate and rolled well. Very good value, I will definitely return. My only complaint is the height of the secondary rough. It is simply way too high - like 2 feet plus when we played. You will not find a ball in there. Given the attractive price point, this course will attract higher handicap golfers who will encounter the rough more frequently, which only adds frustration, needless expense in lost balls, and slows pace of play.
Excellent greens
Callahan Golf Link greens are in excellent shape. Probably the best in the area. You won't be disappointed.
Please put red white and blue flags on the green indicating pen placement
Nice day at Callahan’s. The staff were friendly checking in and the starter had us teeing off on time. The course is in good condition and the greens are rolling nicely. The bunkers need a little attention but as long as you’re not in there, you’d be OK. I wish they would use red white and blue flags on the pan indicating pin position. The GPS is good but when you can’t drive on the fairway it leaves a little to be desired. I would recommend this course to anyone in the area.
Cart Path Only
We found that all the Cart Path Only holes were perfectly Dry and it did slow up play
In great shape compared to other courses nearby
Course is in better shape than most in my experience this summer. Slower greens but very well maintained. Pace of play was fine.
Excellent set up and value
Love the course and is an excellent value. Friendly staff, solid amenities. Well worth the visit. Definitely be back
Great shape all around
Greens are in great condition.
The whole course really was. It’s been dry so grounds were hard but it hasn’t rained much lately.
Matts at the range, but huge putting green was nice.
Staff was super friendly. Beverage cart came by at least 3 times in our round.
Pace was average but honestly the 2 I played with were part of the problem.
5 stars on the $43 hot deal.
Callahan
Greens were in great shape slightly higher cost but not crazy high at 50$. One tee box in bad shape as it always is due to shady spot otherwise watch out for the poison ivy along some of the fairways it would be nice to have a 6 foot “rough” edging to the fairways to slow down balls before they get in the 12 inch high stuff.
Legit course, fair price
The starter was really nice and the course was in pretty good shape. Greens were nice, as well as the fairways. The tee boxes were a little beat up but I will still be coming back.

Last time, enjoyed playing here. Moving to Myrtle Beach next Tuesday.
Ok value for the money
Course was extremely dry. Tees and Fairways are like playing off hardpan. Greens were surprisingly receptive and rolled ok. Not a bad design with some good hole layouts. Ok value for the money, but not a high end course. My expectations were higher for a plus 4 star rated course.
Good Course
2nd time I played. Course was in really good shape. Perfect waether, not too hot. Challenging, but fun.
