The bent grass greens are horrible. The course doesn’t have the budget to maintain them. Maybe they’ll be better when the weather is cool again, but I wouldn’t hold my breath.

If your ball goes in the rough, your chances of finding it are close to zero, even if you saw exactly where it went. When they cut the rough, they cut it at a height that is taller than a golf ball. So bring some extra golf balls with you or maybe you’ll find some other balls while you’re looking for yours. Add a half an hour or so to your round because of it.

The fairway grass is long. A tee shot that would normally roll out 25 to 30 yards now rolls 5 to 10 yards. So you might consider moving up or else you’ll be playing a really long golf course.

It’s best not to play out of any of the bunkers because the liner can be a quarter inch below the sand. If you want to play a shot out of the bunker, put a tee next to your ball as deeply into the sand as you can to make sure the liner is not there. My sand wedge has a custom look to it since the liner took a chunk out of out of it.

Pace of play can be an issue because marshals don’t do anything to speed it up so if you get a slow group in front of you just go around them, they won’t pick up their pace.

You can play in a round there in four hours and 15 minutes but count on 4:40.

The layout of the course is fantastic. It’s a course you can play every day and enjoy it. It’s a shame that it can’t be maintained for whatever reason.

The staff is really friendly. Nice folks. Don’t complain to them about anything though. They have a long list of excuses as to why the course is the way it is.

It is a pet peeve of mine when you arrive at a course only to find the greens are still in recovery after recent punching and no prior warning was given. Such was the case here. The course was in great nick tee to green but punch holes were very much still in evidence, absolutely destroying any chance of a genuine putting experience.

One other moan - no drinks were available for purchase before we went out, not at the turn when we made it 2 hours later. Come on guys - it's 90+ degree out there even with an earlyish tee time!

Greens aside, Woodmont still provides an excellent quality public golf experience and we need to be grateful for these opportunities. Not sure I'll be back anytime soon though given the above!

Overall the course was very good the range balls are now complimentary but they were out of them and didn't seem to restock them very fast the course has a great layouts the money might be a little expensive but it's still a good course overall greens rolled fairly nice

Fairways decent shape still playing like winter golf with dormant grass. Looks like they just aerated the greens too. Might want to wait a couple of weeks to play this course

One of my favorite courses but was disappointed that there was no notifications when booking tee time that they just aerated the greens less than a week ago so they were in rough shape and the greens fees should be more reduced when this occurs. The whole course needs about a month before fairways and tee boxes also get in better shape . All of the individuals working at the course are great.

In the past year since I previously played, the course has improved significanly! In particular, the greens were fast and very smooth. The players in my group were careful to repair ball marks.

Very interesting design with well-placed bunkers. Greens were slower than I expected them to be but very smooth. Complexes were some of the most intricate I have seen. Pace of play was no issue but it was a cold Wednesday. Would play often if I lived close.

Played for the first time this week. I love the layout, the staff is friendly and the club is service was excellent. Greens were in excellent condition as well. I am in the Kennesaw area and this course has def become one of my favorites.

The reviews got my attention to book a round with my brother in from LA. I was impressed from the moment I arrived, and was greeted by a very friendly man , that loaded our bags, into a cart, gave us tips, and walked away. It’s nice having a cart to Los with all the tings needed. The course was pristine, nice sand, challenging, and fairly narrow. Pace was 3.5 hours including cocktails from the hot cart lady. The 19th hole was modern, clean, had an awesome salmon power bowl and vodka soda!

1. Four cart guys didn’t even notice me when I pulled up to unload bags. Had to ask for help as I was carrying one bag.

2. Driving range had no grass

3. Waited on every single shot. I mean every single shot. No marshal on course.

4. Greens awful. I have never seen so many unrepaired ball marks on greens. They even give away free tools at check in.

5 sand traps not raked by players. Didn’t even seem like they were raked by club.

6. Service at check-in, cart girl and bar girl all good.

I’ve been playing this course for several years and it never disappoints. Great condition, great layout and friendly staff keep me coming back.

We teed off as a tournament was just finishing up. So, I cannot accurately comment on some course amenities that are affected by a large shotgun start tournament. However, course conditions including practice facilities and pace of play were surprisingly good given the situation, really for any day on the course. You can reach most par 5s in two if you can carry 250ish off the tee and have an ok/consistent fairway wood in your bag. I was chipping at worst and am a very average golfer (low 90s to high 80s).

Great course for the money. One of the best layouts in Atlanta
