Heron Bay Golf & Country Club

Played a course world renowned the day before north of Atlanta. This course was as good if not better and a better price. Just 20 miles south of Atlanta in what appeared to be a new suburb and growing, the course layout was challenging for experienced golfer but can be accommodating for one new to golf as 5 t boxes are provided. Course was in excellent condition and all surfaces were well maintained except some sand traps. Recent rains are a challenge for any course and understandable. Work the communication and agree with partners to handling these and make necessary adjustments if all are in agreement. Have fun and view was fabulous. Note GPS was off by .4 mile. Signs to course could be better.

This was the 3rd time my wife and have played this course. We are both seniors (I’m 72). We have enjoyed it more each time we play. The only draw back is there aren’t true senior tees. My understanding is the red tees are for both women and seniors. The red tees are still quite long for the par 5s and some of the par 4s. Nevertheless the course presents a true challenge. Enjoyed the round.

Course in good shape, but cart paths are terrible along with the small bridges the carts have to go over.

This place is hidden gem, great shape, greens are fast and true. I hate writing this review since it may get more people to play it, but a great track that will challenge your game!!

Great time playing this course, greens were in amazing shape even with all the rain. Courses gives you some holes but then comes back takes your heat out with some challenging Par 3s and long tight Par 4s. Go play this course, you will enjoy every bit of it.

Nice fairways to hit from the greens are little tricky reading them also firm and fast. A lot sand. Would definitely play it again.

Great beginner's course. I took my 14 year old son with me for his 1st time on the greens. We had a great time.

My favorite course down South! Greens are always pristine, staff members are always welcoming no matter time of day, driving range is clean and upkept, restrooms with lockers, and a nice clubhouse. Oh and the putting green is HUGEEE!!! Pace of play on weekends can be slow but for $40 on weekdays this is a steal!!!!

Solid course and facilities were nice. Woman in pro shop seemed pretty frazzled and irritated that she had to explain location of range balls, carts, etc to someone who hasn’t played there before.

For 45 bucks, i was really impressed. Greens were a bit bald, but they roll fairly true and aren’t overly firm. Really enjoyed my time out here today and can’t wait to come back!

Heron Bay is nice enough, but the layout doesn’t necessarily play to my strengths which are few. I’m a senior and played the red tees with my wife. I believe it was #8, a par 5 dogleg right. The tee box was in a position not far from some tees to the right that afforded me no chance of hitting a fade. Pace of play was slow once we caught up to a couple of groups oh 3. Would have been nice if the refreshment cart offered sandwiches or hot dogs. I most likely will return now that I know the layout.
