Great value
Course is in great shape for this time of year and considering they are still recovering from the tornado a couple years ago. There are signs of improvement all over and each time we play here it’s a bit better. Compliments to management and grounds crew. We’ll definitely be back.
Played 1/5/26
First time playing at Shoal Creek but would play again! Fairways and greens were in good shape for winter golf. Tee Boxes need a little help, but again, for winter golf the course was in good shape.
Will play again in spring/summer!
Good Value
18 costs around $30 on a weekday, buddy had to leave early so I got a rain check no problem and played a free 9 a couple days later. The course itself is alright, some rocks off the fairway and sandy tee boxes, but for the price you pay, it’s worth the value. The holes are fun and the staff were great. Definitely recommend, and seems like a great beginner course.
The course is okay
Worst experience I’ll have golfing while at Shoal Creek. The tee boxes are dirt and so are the people. Played on a Sunday where a four hour round can be expected, not a problem. The issue is that although I was ahead of pace of play by a considerable amount, I was being hit into and being cussed at by a man child playing behind me. I was playing up to the group in front of me as fast as I could, even confirmed by the pro shop. That didn’t stop the typical Georgia native behind me from ruining my experience and acting like a child. I went to the pro shop to let them know what was happening and it didn’t change much. Now the people at the pro shop were very friendly and did the best they could, but a refund or a rain check does not make up for being hit into and cussed at while trying to play a Sunday round of golf. Not only did the pro shop confirm I was ahead of pace of play, but they were the ones who told me I could go play as a solo in the first place. I expected the poor group behind me to be removed from the course because of their behavior, it simply wasn’t fair and there is no room for that in any sport.
The course is being worked for improvements. Staff is doing a great job
Greens and fairways are in decent shape. The clubhouse is being remodeled.
Two sons and me
My sons and I were looking for an early round on a decent course. We got exactly that. The course is getting some work done as they recover from the tornadoes that tore through there. Overall, it was a good day and we had a nice day together.
Solid
The course is doing well, even after having to do maintenance due to weather causing damages prior. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Pace of play was good as well. Will be coming back to the course forsure.
Good challenge
Course has a relatively challenging layout. The fairways are in okay condition but need a little more grass to grow in to be more consistent. Greens are in very good shape. Needs quite a bit of work on the cart pass as they are damaged in many places and need to be repaired. The off course amenities are very few things available other than some canned drinks and some snacks.
Decent shape.
Fairways and greens are in great shape. The clubhouse is under remodeling.
Great Course Coming Back
Shoal Creek was hit hard by a tornado a few years ago. The course is challenging and in great shape. The amenities are not there yet but they are working on it.
Greta value. It's getting there!
Shoal Creek is pumping money into the course. You can tell they are working hard to improve it and restore it back to its former glory. The greens and bunkers were great, the layout is fun, and the fairways are getting there.
$37 to ride 18 on a Sunday morning (not a hot deal) is a great value and it won't be that cheap for long!
