About
Located just southeast of Phoenix in the town of Florence, Poston Butte Golf Club offers some of the most affordable golf in the area. The course has desert attributes but the best part about its design is that it is more forgiving than some of the overgrown desert courses found in north Scottsdale. The golf course features 49 sand traps strategically placed around the landing zones and greensides and water comes into play on two holes. It is generally a player-friendly layout though with wide fairways and ample room off the tees. The par-3 17th is the signature hole, which is known for its challenging island green. Poston Butte also offers a double-ended, targeted grass range and a short game area.

Course was in overall great shape for this time of year. Definitely will be back to check it out again.
Great experience
Really a wonderful course and community. I got paired with some cool guys that I’m sure helped too. The island green at 17 is impressive.
Tee Times
Course was in great shape. Teetimes too close together. We were waiting on golfers ahead of us for 7 holes and then rangers comes up to us telling us that we are behind a half a hole! 🤔
Very nice course with very nice people
Loved the course.
Pretty open off the tee boxes and tightens up near the greens.
Couse was in good condition and everything is kept very nice.

Poston Butte
Loved everything about the course and facility. The course was in great shape and loved the layout. A bit of a drive but well worth it.
Fun and forgivable
It’s a drive to Florence but worth it. Course can be as challenging as you wish, based on the tee boxes. But it is forgiving and fun to play.
Spacious Fairways plus “ISLAND” green on 17
Generous fairways for landing so no worries for lost ball. Good mix of dog leg left and right. Many tee decks (5) to accommodate appropriate handicap and playing levels. Does seem a little pricey in late April (via GolfNow) for a community course of DelWebb.
Played hookey on Tuesday
This is my second time playing here. Pace was great until 12 or 13, when a couple members slowed things down, perhaps believing they were playing a big match with money on the line. Course was in good shape and greens rolled true. Always a pleasure heading out to Florence and getting a round in.
Meh
I thought I would try a new course and was told this course was a “Hidden Gem”. The course condition and layout were average. The price to play on a weekend was higher than what it should be.

I enjoyed playing the course, if I were to suggest a couple things Maybe less watering Softness in some areas and add brushes at range in water buckets. Best regards
