Pace too slow
They seem to overbook this course often. A 9 hole round that took 3.5 hours is ridiculous. They also need to overhaul their golf carts as they are falling apart and have the worse brakes ever. It’s a fun course when it’s not backed up and you want to get a quick round on but that never happens these days.
backed up by a bunch of drunks
The pace of play was horrible due to some league play on Fridays. We were backed up by a bunch of drunks for over an hour.
Cheap course.
Nice layout
Some challenging holes.
Greens were punched and sanded so hard to judge.
Fairways are in good shape.
But
Had to cancel the round although didnt get my money back.
Seeing that it was only $18 the round it seems cheap but I have played multiple $14-$20 per round golf courses in the Chicago area that are in pristine shape.
National City is in VERY BAD shape..
What can I say, there is no access to the 1st tee as the bridge is down so had to walk around the entire driving range (which is in very bad shape as well) and through holes 9 and 2 to get to the 1st tee box. The 2cd hole tee box had 3 groups on it. One was teeing off and the other 2 waiting. When we got to the 1st tee box there were 2 groups there as well. One group was getting ready to tee off and the other was waiting. We waited for 20 mins with no luck so we decided to call it a day. There was no way we could finish within a couple hours and we needed to catch a flight. We walked back to the parking lot and a group that was teeing off the 9th hole were waiting as there were a couple homeless people walking in the middle of the 3par fairway,
Anyways, tee boxes on 1,2 and 9 (only ones we saw) were also in bad shape. Fairways and greens in the three hoes we walked past looked OK from afar.
Not worth the $18 as there are probably better 9 hole courses in the area,.
Fun course!
Course is perfect for learning. Greens are incredibly slow but all part of the game. Overall a good time
Great experience
Second time playing the Nasty City Nine, and I love it. Very busy Sunday made for a crowded but friendly course. Mostly newer golfers, and my wife’s first time, she was nervous about slowing people down or disrupting play, but not the case. Great day and we will be back.
Slow pace of play
Took us almost three hours to play 9 holes, course conditions weren’t bad they just need to spread out the tee times a bit more and it would be great value for the money
Grandson wanted to play a 9 holer
Grandson wanted to play a 9 holer And NC was the closest and least expensive. Always have fun when I golf with him. He is 14 years old and I want to cherish all the time I have with him.
Great value
I haven’t been playing that long but I like this course and I like the price even more. Gold is a very expensive sport so it’s nice to have options like this course. Staff is friendly and always willing to help.
Greens Under Repair
Most of the time the course is in good shape. However, it would be nice to know before you tee off if the greens are airated and sanded. Would have golfed elsewhere.
