A good round of golf
The course was in great condition. Fairways were like 95% perfect and the greens were challenging but in great shape. The tee boxes were great, very fluffy.
The comment saying the course "was in worse conditions than Chula Vista" is a wildly inaccurate statement....
Overhyped, Poor Conditions
Avoid!! Played muni goat tracks in better conditions. Greens are spongy and slow. Fairways are extremely patchy and some look diseased. Rough has a about 5 different grasses, not consistent at all. Former member from 2007-2013, and the golf course has seen better days. Yes, Enagic put Pro tee boxes in, but for normal golfers we don’t care. I wouldn’t go back there for free. Staff is arrogant, the policy for purchasing alcoholic beverages before the round is ridiculous, the food and beverage manager (or he claimed that was him) is a complete douche.
I will never play here again
First reason- Couse conditions are worse than Chula Vista Municipal. Tee boxes are bad, 220 in the middle of the fairway no grass, bunkers are horrible, filled with water. Not worth the Hot Deal I paid let alone $150.00 for a Friday.
Second reason- My "GPS" cart locked out, said I was in a restricted area. I was actually in a public street intersection between #9 and #10 and was a sitting duck in traffic. Calling the pro shop was zero help. The rest in my group had to go to them to get me another cart. Lost 20 minutes due to this issue and cart kept telling me to keep up with the group in front of me?
No apologies from staff.

Needs work on fairways
The greens keeper or maintenance guy needs to understand about roping off area, what a pain in the rear.
Nice course Horrible Staff
The course itself is beautiful and well taken care of — no complaints there. Unfortunately, the experience was soured the moment I stepped into the pro shop on Monday. The two guys working the counter had some serious attitudes, especially the taller, skinny one who seemed to think sarcasm and rudeness were part of the job description. Not sure if they pay him extra for the attitude, but if so, he’s definitely earning it. A great course deserves staff that actually make people want to come back.
Disappointed
Disappointed in the “resident card” program. Seems like a cheap price gouge. Why are CA Licenses not enough? I have to pay $40 a year for you to check my ID? Not a lot of money just annoying. Will not return.
Scam course
When you go to purchase a t time you will see a public rate (110) and “SD county rate” (70) for weekdays.
I reserve the t time, but a day before I check the reviews because I’m excited. To my shock I see stories of how the SD county rate is not actually real, I call the course to confirm this and I’m told there are actually 3 rates. Public, SD county, and member rates.
Whew! I’m all good, or so I thought…
All the recent reviews were spot on. There is no “SD County rate”, you need to buy the membership. “It’s a new policy as of June 1st”
When I mentioned that I called them yesterday to confirm, they said “oh you must have talked to the call center, not us.”. OK?!? Then why does your number take me to them??. Why haven’t you updated them, or your info in Golf Now??,
The pro shop guys are obviously not responsible, and unfortunetly management is either too lazy or ethically bankrupt to start MANAGING.
If the course was nice enough I’d take the public rate any day, but it is an absolute pity to look at compared to other courses in the area. Dead grass. Grass growing out of bunkers. Outdated facilities.
In summary, this golf club is overcharging for a subpar course and management is purposefully deceiving customers and expecting them to suck it up when they show up for their t time.
WILL NEVER RETURN. Horrible condition. Forced club card fee.
Pics attached.
Similar condition courses in the area are 50$.
Horrible management and course
This course used to be great. New management policies and forced resident card are pure money grabs.
Fairways are patchy. Greens are atrocious, bumpy, carpety. Tee boxes need to be leveled. Greens need to be cut and rolled.
Rate is about double what it should cost compared to other courses in the area.
Full golf attire required to hit at the range. Range is torn mats, no grass. Lack of a proper short game area.
They force you to buy a 50$ resident card, that works no where else, and they wont accept id for proof if residency. Its basically a member discount card.
For golfpass deals only
The course conditions are , compared to other San Diego courses , worth 70.00 on Sunday morning at best. IIn any given month it is never worth 150.00. Sorry. Play Bonita or Balboa instead.
Nice course - BEWARE OF NEW COUNTY CARD REQUIREMENTS
New County card requirement seems like a money grab. Course was in good condition with work being done on the problem areas. Range mats are dismal.
