Tucked away in the Ramapo Mountains on a perch overlooking the Hudson, Patriot Hills Golf Club in Stony Point feels far but it’s conveniently only an hour’s drive from the city. The golf course tumbles across dramatically rolling hills, providing views that span the Hudson Valley. Don’t let the 6,485 yards on the scorecard fool you, the daunting elevation changes make the course feel much longer. Walkers should be forewarned that this mountainous golf course is nearly impossible on foot. You can expect a few approaches to uphill greens but more often you’ll be faced with intimidating shots from elevated tees, which loom more than 200 feet above the severely contoured fairways below. The Patriot Hills layout is a formidable test but players of any skill level can appreciate the meticulous care that went into crafting each hole.

Excellent layout
I’m glad I was able to play this course this year. I really like the layout, the greens were a little slow and bumpy but the overall condition was good for the middle of September.
A superb golf course! Drive it straight or you could be in for a long day
Cart path only
Way too much. Carts electronic ly controlled. Was dry but half the holes cart path only

Except for the pace of play it was great.
We tee’d off at 2:50 and didn’t finish.
One of the Best Public Golf Courses in the Region
Patriot Hills is easily one of the best public golf courses in the region and one of my favorite courses to play. I’ve played here many times, and it continues to impress every time I come back.
The course is consistently in excellent condition, the staff is exceptionally friendly and welcoming, and the overall atmosphere is relaxed and easygoing. But what really makes Patriot Hills special is the golf itself. The elevation changes, slopes, scenery, course layout, and variety of challenging shots make for a spectacular round from a golfer’s perspective. It keeps you thinking throughout the round without ever taking away from the enjoyment of playing.
It’s simply an awesome golf course and an absolute delight to play. If you enjoy great public golf and haven’t played Patriot Hills yet, you’re missing out. Highly recommended.
Course is in great shape . . . mostly.
Course is in great shape fairway to green. Tee boxes need some serious work but the rest of the course and the newly redone bunkers are great. Don't understand how you don't have any divot mix in the carts or on the tee boxes!

Friday golf day - fantastic!
The Course offers a cool layout featuring a few visually intimidating tee shots, strategic bunkering, deceptive sightlines, rolling elevation changes, and expansive mountain views. The secluded setting gives the course a peaceful feel that distinguishes many courses in the region.
Pace of play was surprisingly smooth and steady, especially for a busy Friday at a public course in Southern New York. While green fees and mandatory cart fees can make prime tee times relatively expensive, the overall experience justified the cost. Course conditions were solid, with well-maintained fairways and greens. Although a few tee boxes showed signs of seasonal wear, they had little impact on an otherwise enjoyable round. The exceptional staff made it that much more fun.
