Lake Wales Country Club

The course layout was its best feature. Great course. Some bunkers did have weeds growing in them but they are softer than you’d think. The fairways had some bare patches, but the reviews made it sound like the staff doesn’t care about the course conditions and that’s untrue. The greens need some work but nothing where you couldn’t putt. Some tough hole locations today! The only negative note I’d say is I had a 6:38am tee time and they didn’t open the clubhouse till 6:30. An elderly twosome teed off at 6:20 and were upset when I chose to skip a hole to pass. They were pretty rude, and very slow, they took 25 min to play hole one. Had a great time here and will return unfortunately I think this twosome are regulars and if so need to not set a snail pace for the rest of groups behind them.

Fairway needs attention, plenty of balding patches

Started at 7 , first 2 holes had to dodge sprinklers , then 4 thru 9 same thing . After that wasn’t bad , got done in about 3 1/2 hrs. The sand traps were a little better than a year ago and the greens were ok . Fairways kind of hard pan .!

Tee boxes and fairways are just a bunch of weeds or dirt. The greens are ok. Half the sand traps were ok and the other half had plants growing out of them. They had the sprinklers running most of the time I was there and it was just creating standing water where it was spraying. I stopped at the bathroom by hole 9s tee box and it looked like nobody had cleaned it in years and smelled like mold. The price was cheaper but still not worth the money I paid. Glad I only played 9 holes.

Greens are perfect, fairways were a little beat up. Had fun.

The work being done to improve this golf course is noticeable and very good. It has a great layout. It just needed some TLC and appears to be getting it. The greens are a lot better than before. The fairways and tee boxes are improving.

This in all honesty is the worst course I’ve seen in my life. There are no tee boxes or fairways. There are only weeds cut down to make some sort of fairways. There is even more dirt than weeds. I keep constantly picking up my ball and placing it on top of a weed mound to resemble hitting off a fairway. The greens which were the BEST part of the course I would rate a 3 out of 5. I’ve never left this bad of a review on any course but believe me, I’m not lying. If you can, play elsewhere.

Greens were in great shape but the fairways were a little dry and patchy.

This was our first time playing here, for the price we paid I thought it was excellent value.

Some of the fairways were not great (we just took preferred lies) and some of the greens were very good.

Considering Florida had just had a very cold spell

I thought it was very good.

I liked the layout and thoroughly enjoyed my round.

I played this course previously and it was not in good shape. It is a vast difference -The bunkers still need some work but the rest of the course is 180 degrees better than the last time I played it. Well worth the funds. Continue to improve.

This is the best shape the course has been in In years. Greens are in very good condition and there is grass on the fairways now.

Haven’t been down for a couple of years but still enjoyed the experience. Paired up with two locals and a real character. Good players to sbare a round with.

They allowed a group of 4 to get in between tee times. They started basically on our assigned tee time, and they were slow as well. We had to wait at least 5 minutes for every shot. paid for 18, but stopped at 9. Rate was cheap, but there are better things to do than waiting for your next shot
