About
The Club at Venetian Bay is part of a unique residential community with a Mediterranean theme. Colorful buildings, mosaics, and Mediterranean vegetation surround the championship golf course. The biggest challenge for the designers was transforming what was formerly a cow pasture into a lush, challenging course. The design team of Clifton, Ezell, and Clifton seemed to have little trouble doing so. The front nine plays through the woods while the back nine is more open with a few links-style touches. The most prominent feature of this golf course is the abundance of sand bunkers. There are more than 100 strategically placed throughout. The bunkers present a formidable test but they are nicely balanced with ample landing areas. They are also geared more towards low handicappers, which means they aren't intended to kill your round.

Course Very Dry
The course is very dry. Greens were rough, fairways thin, and tee boxes thin.
Nice layout
Good track just that the greens are beaten up like most of the other courses in the area
Needs work
I hadn’t played this course in a while so thought I’d give it another shot. Many of the greens were in a state of distress as well as some other areas of the course. I Fortunately I had a good deal on this round as I would have been extremely disappointed if I had paid the courses posted rate. It’ll definitely not be on the top of my list to play again anytime soon.

Good layout of holes and from tips was quite a challenge. Would recommend to anyone.
What happened to this place
Terrible greens. Unbelievable they are charging $80. Place is worth $20. Haven’t golfed here in a while and won’t come back for a while either. Greens are a sand pit with little grass if any at all. Can not believe I paid $80.
Greens a mess (right now).
Booked around not knowing the current shape of the greens. Was notified by the pro shop when I arrived they were offering a discounted green fee due to green being over sanded as they try to repair.. of course they were unplayable. Enjoy the layout and it’s unprecedented for the course to be in this condition. They recently started night golf, which may be putting too much stress on the greens to quickly recover.
Over priced
One of the worst golf courses you can play in area overpriced the worst greens in the area $80 to play a cow, pasture, horrible. If you want to play a nice course cypress head right up the road. Don't ever plan on playing this course again. They have new owners , and I don't think they know anything about golf
Pachinko Greens
Need major work on the greens, I have played this course several times and the greens were in better condition.
Curse Needs Water
Entire area under drought conditions however course does not appear to have had any water used to keep grass alive. Bare areas in fairways and rough but worse was greens. They were full of weeds and had large area of brown grass or no grass. This would be a good course if they had properly watered the entire course.
Summary
The greens were very sandy and bumpy. Fairways were dry. I loved the layout with wide fairways and not a lot of trouble. They are preparing for night golf but should be using that money for the course.
Nice course and facilities. Pace of play will keep me away
I think this would be a fun course. Greens were in bad shape. Fairways were good. Pace of play was real problem. It took almost 3 hours to finish front 9. I paid for 18 for my son and I, but we walked away after 9 holes because that much waiting just steals the joy of the game. We would stack up 4 groups deep at the par 3s.
Great layout
I like playing this course but what has happened to the greens! It has a great layout and I really enjoy playing here. I would give it five stars if the greens were in better condition.
Stay away
Course is in terrible shape, particularly the greens. Greens are full of weeds and impossible to putt. A few are heavily sanded. Of course, they wont say anything when you pay the overpriced green fee. Much better courses to play for the same or less money. Pace was terrible...played in 5 hrs and waited on every shot.
