Course Highlights
Cypress Head delivers a challenging, accurate-demand layout with forced carries and varied holes that consistently reward return visits. Exceptionally friendly staff, well-maintained conditions, and strong value make this a standout hidden gem in Volusia County.

About

Holes 18
Type Public/Municipal
Par 72
Length 6805 yards
Slope 139
Rating 72.9

Cypress Head, an Arthur Hills design, is a blend of holes and styles, a layout of two distinct nines that impress players through different means. At 6,805 yards from the tournament tees, the course is not a beast (there are three alternative sets to choose from).

The first nine is the highlight at Cypress Head. These holes take on a variety of shapes and strategies with little repetition.

It features multi-tiered undulating greens and preserved wetlands with water coming into play on 14 of the 18 holes. The 14th hole is a 478-yard par 4 over water that comes into play off the tee as well as the second shot to the multi tiered green.

The Golf Club also features a lighted driving range and practice facility. Two practice putting greens, a target green and sand bunkers for honing your skills before taking on the challenges of the course

With its' superb conditions and beautiful wetlands setting, Cypress Head is a public club that offers a private and tranquil experience.

Great Track

Really enjoyed this course. Definitely worth the drive. Course was in excellent condition. The green were a little slow, but putted true. Pace of play was good until we ran into a couple of member groups. Still played in 3 1/2 hours. 1 1/2 hours on the front, 2 hours on the back. Will definitely play again.

One of the best public courses ever

This was my first time at this golf course. I have played on public courses all around the country and this one was, by far, the best. The course itself was well manicured, and taken care of, as nice as many private courses, if not better. Every staff member with whom I interacted was friendly, hospitable, and very knowledge.. Overall an exceptional experience.

First time

First time playing Cypress Head. Staff was very friendly and practice are was solid. Course was in very good shape tee to green. Greens could be a bit faster but rolled true. Pace of play was a concern. The group in front of us was very slow. Ranger came by but had no impact, 2.5 hour front nine. We got passed the group on the 10th tee and didn’t see another group the entire back nine, played in 90 minutes. Ranger should have had the group skip a hole or two.
