Riverside Golf Course

this course is suffering highly from lack of care and water.

Greens were mostly ok but many fairways had almost no grass. It was tree roots and dirt.People were friendly and the round was 4 hours and 5 minutes so that was the good news.We will not be back.

Course is suffering from ongoing drought conditions with many fairways having little grass in landing areas or around greens. Greens a bit slow but still roll true. Staff is the friendliest and most accommodating in the area. For the price (at least for now) Riverside is still a decent alternative to the sky high rates other courses are charging during Florida’s ‘high season’.

Course layout is interesting because the front nine is squeezed in between manufactured home community. Back nine opens up into natural setting for about 5 holes. Fairways were very thin but greens were in really good shape. Really nice staff but not the kind of course we would play again.

Only real issue we had was trying to get a cold beverage after the round. The bar was closed apparently an hour early. Oh well

the drought is still affecting this course's fairways. barely any grass in a lot of places and very problematic around the greens. impossible to chip on hard pan fairways. you have to put from 20 yards and in off the green!

I do not blame the staff and maintenance crew at all, but it was a bit of a tough round. Let me preface this by stating we acknowledge that we are in the worst drought in the history of Florida. That being said, the greens were in great shape, but the fairways were unplayable. Almost no grass at all and were almost like hitting off of concrete. I would love to attempt this course again after we get some more consistent rain. Another note, if you do play here (which I do recommend), make sure you be careful if you hit anything out of bounds. The course is tightly lined by houses (it’s in a 55+ community) and the residents we encountered were extremely aggressive and rude. We did our best to apologize for a mishit but they just wanted to engage and shout at us for being “bad golfers”.

This is normally a decent course, but the fairways were completely looking like a cow pasture and the greens were too fluffy, they needed to be cut and possibly rolled.

I know there has been not as much rain but the fairways look like they were deseased.

We ended up being late on a very busy day and the staff managed to fit us in. Very much appreciated. The rough is not good, but if you stay in the fairways, they are mostly really nice, and the greens are very good. Interesting place.
