Shalimar Pointe Golf Club

We had to play back nine twice and we were not notified before buying or playing course. Very disappointing.

We traveled from PCB to play. It was in remarkable shape after just having gone through hurricane Isaias. The front nine was still closed, so it was a little crowded on the back nine as we made the turn to play it again to complete our 18 holes. We anticipate coming back when we are able to get in the front nine.

They only had 9 holes open because of the recent hurricane. It was a great day to get out and golf. We shook off the rust and shot 74 with 3 bogies and 1 birdie. Recommend best ball play and this course for season golfers.

While Shalimar was listed for a Hot Deal, the listing didn't note that only the back 9 was open. Half the course missing shouldn't be hidden from the listing so golfers can make an informed decision about whether or not to take the deal.

Only the back 9 was open, but it was in pretty good shape for being a week removed from a hurricane. Several challenging holes and layout that forces some choices off the tee. Multi-tiered greens really reward approach shots that account for pin placement.

This seemed to be the only course that opened up post hurricane. They only had the back nine open so we played it twice for $35. After reading the reviews I was expecting a dog track but was pleasantly surprised by the nice course conditions. Greens were in pretty good shape and rolling true. Fairways were better than the average muni. Staff was wonderful. Overall, I would absolutely play here again.

This round came after the Hurricane Isaias storm. Only the bank 9 was playable and I played it 2x. They are still cleaning up debris from the storm.

I thought it was a decent course and was surprised by all the negative reviews that I read. If I visit the area again I would definitely play another round.

Course was overrun with weeds. Greens need alot of work, fairways were poor with very little grass. Layout was fine, but needs much attention

It certainly was a little bit rougher than the last time I played the card path is very rough and needs attention but the golf course is nice

THE GREENS ARE IN TERRIBLE SHAPE. THEY NEED TO DROP THE PRICE FOR A ROUND UNTIL YOU CAN GET THE GREENS IN GOOD SHAPE. I FEEL LIKE THIS COURSE HAS BEEN IN ROUGH SHAPE FOR THE LAST COUPLE YEARS.

The humidity is brutal this time of year along the Gulf Coast. There were quite a lot of browning on the greens and fairways. I hope the water pump isn't broken. Two weeks ago everything was green and plush. The dryness didn't affect playability or putting though. Greens were pretty fast.

First time i have played this course since they re-worked their greens a few years ago. The greens are not good. Lots of large dead spots, slow speed, bumpy. Otherwise there are a lot of dead spots in the fairways, etc. I drove over an hour to try it out and was very disappointed. As always the staff there is great.

It’s a ok course, the rough isn’t maintained the greens are slow but true and there’s just too much sand in the fairways

Long Bahia grass growing all around the course. Cart path was normally right in the middle of the fairway.

Charged me an additional $20 to have my wife ride in the cart with me on the goat ranch!

At first glance the club house was older but nice and staff was very polite. The course could use some maintenance. You can tell it’s a neat layout and used to be a very nice course, but has been neglected. There were weeds everywhere and the greens were partially burnt up and dead. Would not make the drive from Destin to Shalimar to play again.

Nothing about this course was good besides the food. Cart paths were made of sand and most of the course didn’t even have a cart path anyways. Fairways were dried out and it just poured yesterday. The bunkers were poorly maintained and so were the greens. If you ever decide to come to this trashy course make sure everybody has their own set of clubs or else you will get a talking to from the owner and he will kick you out or make you spend 200 extra dollars to rent clubs so he can pocket the money.
