Shalimar Pointe Golf Club
About
Located along the shores of Choctawhatchee Bay, Shalimar Pointe Golf Club enjoys a scenic, rolling landscape dotted with trees. This often-overlooked golf course has been considered one of the Emerald Coast's best-kept secrets but the word is beginning to get out. The course, due to its challenging but playable nature, has been used for U.S. Open qualifiers and it was host to the Emerald Coast Tour. The layout features immaculately manicured greens that are framed by strategic bunkering and water hazards on a number of holes. The golf course is challenging but fair with five sets of tees to accommodate players of all skill levels. The course is Shalimar Pointe's main attraction but it is complemented by extensive practice facilities including an expansive driving range, putting green and chipping green.

Shalimar Golf
Slightly better conditions than last week. No heavy rough, can still use a putter
FL Panhandle golf
The course is transitioning from the winter to spring.
There were a few bumps while putting but manageable and fast and firm. Overall not too bad. I was able to save some 1 putt pars in the 8 to 15 foot range.
Reasonable but course not great.
The staff members were friendly, the clubhouse was clean and nice but the course wasn’t in the best shape. We felt like the pin placements were poor. We had to wait on every hole. At least it was less expensive than others in the area.
Nice welcome at the pro shop
Nice layout
Nice play to play
I recommend this course
Wow
Il be back
Thanks all of the Staff
The course did not have a marshall and it took us 5 hours to play 18. The course was not in great condition and definitely not worth the price fit the course.
Great course and a great price
I really enjoyed this course. Lots of fun, not too difficult. Staff was awesome. Booked on GolfNow and for the price to ride, get range time it was awesome. Definitely coming back.
4star with potential for 5
First of all…don’t expect 5 star amenities there was no one working the bag drop, which is fine with me. Pro Shop staff was good… you get a cart key from them and get ready to go. Carts are gas, not my favorite.. back breakers!!
No starter, the person my wife and I were pared with by the Pro Shop ignored us and went off alone…. Our gain, what a jerk!!
No GPS on carts, so grab an extra card and bring your reading glasses to follow the map on the scorecard to see the layout.. or use your own GPS app.
The layout was fun, unfortunately they has just overseeded, and many of the tees were closed, and the maintenance crews that set the temporary tee locations must not be golfers because they were not level, not mowed, and hadn’t been moved for several days… we improvised!!
Give the placed another week or so of sun and a good mowing and it’s going to be so much better!! I would definitely play Shalimar again.
Notes to Shalimar Management…1: Get electric carts the next time you replace your rental fleet. 2: When you overseed, and have temporary tees (all tee markers on the same location in the unlevel rough) give a discount!!
3: Including range balls for free is a plus, however the ten year old balls mixed in with the newer balls, just pitch them in the trash!!
Solid course
The course itself is solid, greens were fast and the layout was fun and challenging. My only real complaint is their pro shop only had a few sleeves of pro V1's and nothing else ball wise. That being said they did have a tournament recently so that could be why.
Decent course for the time of the year
One MAJOR Complaint. Left my Bushnell Wingman II Rangefinder/Speaker on the cart. Went back the next day to hopefully retrieve it. Talked to the Cart maintenance person, a very nice young man named Lee. He stated he had found it and returned it to pro shop, Pro shop did not have. Mysteriously walked away. It was my fault for leaving it behind, but very unethical for someone there to now have a new rangefinder. I checked back several times afterward, with no results. Pretty crappy on their part!
Great Round
Wife 1st time playing golf on a course. Good round and course is in good shape. Michael helped us TeeOff at the right time. Thank you
Course Review
Fairways are soft. Greens conditions are okay. Overall okay. Course play conditions are much better than a year ago
Course is a little rough but probably in line for the cost to play. I think the course will improve as weather conditions improve.?!
Staff was very friendly and helpful.
