Formerly home to a turpentine plantation, the site now offers one of the most environmentally sensitive courses in northwest Florida, Kelly Plantation. The golf course sits along the shores of the Choctawhatchee Bay, sprawling across a waterfront landscape of towering trees and swampy bayous. The course features large, contoured greens and wide, manicured fairways that are in excellent condition but can also be tricky to navigate. The strategically placed hazards also require some careful maneuvering. In addition to being a challenging round, the golf course is also known for its stunning scenic appeal. Throughout the layout, golfers can enjoy panoramic views across the bay to the abundant magnolias and palmettos that are native to Florida's northwest region. For these reasons, Kelly Plantation has received high praise from publications such as Golf Digest and Golf Magazine.

Course

After wanting to play this course after many trips

to destin, I was finally able to play The course layout was great and the views were amazing. However given the price, the course was not in great shape and is severely overpriced. Added with unfriendly pro shop staff, I will not be playing here again.

Pretty pricey but good condition

Ok, this is a bit of a stuffy private course, kinda pricey and a 2.7 % credit card fee, come onnnn !! People were very friendly till I walked away after my club wipe down but that tip went to the credit card fee ... sorry buddy. Course very friendly and good tee boxes and greens. Be careful folks we avoid Hilton Head for just these reasons.

Terrible

When I booked my tee time there was nothing posted about the condition of the course. While playing, greens had been arreated and the entire course wa in bad shape from previous times I have played there. IN all honestly, they should not be charging $200 to play a course in this condition without warning golfers before booking. I should be refunded at lest half of my fees.

Fivesomes?

For the price of this course, it is absolutely ridiculous that they allows fivesome to play in front of our group of three for the entire round.

I played here twice this week. The second round ruined the destination forever.

Incredible range and the setting was really nice, and the course was challenging, but the way that they managed their tee times was inexcusable.

This had been flagged this for removal but I posted again so people honestly see how you treat out-of-town guests

Spring Break

The course was in poor shape, sand traps had not been raked, tee boxes and fairways were in poor condition. I can’t believe I paid $215 for a round here.

Have played a few premium courses and this is top of class - greens like carpet and great yet playable layout. Highly recommend and the staff is first class. What a special day. We had 7:18 tee time and wrapped at 10:45, no pressure.

Overall 10 for me. Club house food and drinks, practice greens, chipping and driving range very well maintained.

6 different locations per tee box to tee off from.Tee boxes felt like stepping on carpet and easy to place a tee.

Fairways well maintained with enough bunkers to make it challenging. Greens with enough sloap but easy to read .

Fun Course in the Florida panhandle

Great overall course if you’re in the Destin, Florida area. Great course layout with one hole that has a great view of the bay. Course was in really great shape for being this early in the season. Ranger was a little overzealous on speeding up pace of play, but all in all, the staff was very friendly. I’d recommend and if I’m in the area I will play this course again.
