Formerly home to a turpentine plantation, the site now offers one of the most environmentally sensitive courses in northwest Florida, Kelly Plantation. The golf course sits along the shores of the Choctawhatchee Bay, sprawling across a waterfront landscape of towering trees and swampy bayous. The course features large, contoured greens and wide, manicured fairways that are in excellent condition but can also be tricky to navigate. The strategically placed hazards also require some careful maneuvering. In addition to being a challenging round, the golf course is also known for its stunning scenic appeal. Throughout the layout, golfers can enjoy panoramic views across the bay to the abundant magnolias and palmettos that are native to Florida's northwest region. For these reasons, Kelly Plantation has received high praise from publications such as Golf Digest and Golf Magazine.

I was fortunate enough to have been able to Take my son and grandson and son inlaw to a great course and play , so the course was in great shape ands we had a great time and the staff was excellent and very friendly , which made our round even better , so I would highly recommend playing this course if you get the chance !!

KP is a great course for all types of golfers. Lots of tees to choose from. This course has a great layout and the 3rd and 4th holes are particularly scenic. It is worth it to play if you are in the Destin area.

By far the best course I have played. Beautiful views and the course was in great shape. The staff were extremely friendly. I knew we were in for a great time after entering the gates. There are some amazing homes on the course. I will definitely play again next time we are in the area.

Kelly plantation

Golf course staff were very friendly and professional. Practice areas are great. Course layout was amazing. Only downside were the greens still haven’t fully grown in from aeration, but they are very close to being excellent. They still played fair and fast. Only had issues with 2 greens being a little bumpy but I’d say 1-2 more weeks and they’ll be prime. Tee boxes and fairways were perfect. Overall I would give it a 4.5 out of 5 just because the greens were 90% of what they will be. Had plenty of places to refill cold water and food/beverage cart came by 3 times during our round. Definitely will play again and would for sure recommend to anyone looking for a scenic challenging course.

Less than impressed

I have played Kelly Plantation many times and was less than impressed this go around. Course conditions were bad and the price we paid was the usual. Hopefully they get it worked out soon.
