Kelly Plantation Golf Club

Understand we played the course for 1/2 price due to recent aerification! But the fairways were in dire need of water & bunkers were not maintained! Dining room/bar was a disaster due to SOME remodeling & there was no beverage cart on course either! COULD NOT get ice in golf cart ice chest without making a good/drink purchase first! Had played here several times in the past & loved it! This time very disappointed!

A beautiful, well maintained course in the Destin area. I'm not used to paying $100+ to play a round of golf at home, but that's mostly what you have down here. We used to go play Rocky Bayou for less than $70, but they have gone to $90 so we would rather splurge and play a nicer venue. They had recently aerated, but the greens rolled pretty well. We will try to play again on a future trip.

First off I will start by saying this. Hands down the best non private course in the area. YES course was punched two weeks ago, YES there are still MINOR imperfections but the course is still worth every penny. They absolutely are not charging full rate at this time, this course is usually over $200, we paid $159 plus tax so everyone in recent days who think they payed full price is mistaken. If you played 18 holes and then came off complaining then that’s on you. Putting green literally is the first thing you see upon arrival, take your putter out and go roll the greens, if not to your liking, then don’t play. Every course in the area aerates their greens every late May and early August. If you didn’t know, now you know. Most courses discount their rates for two weeks then they go back up to normal rates. If you want complete details then call the pro shop first before you book on golf now. There normally is a section on Golf Now that gives you information on the course aeration and then you have to sign it saying you have read and understand, this time that was not the case, it was nowhere to be found. A simple phone call to pro shop and was absolutely informed that course was punched, still decided to play and glad I did. Course punched was still better than many courses in the area. Quit belly aching and do some research before you drop your dime, if you pay and play then you cannot complain. Clubhouse is being renovated but staff was more than accommodating and food was excellent. Top notch from top to bottom, highly recommend this course. We will be back for sure.

Shouldn’t charge full price after aeration and sand covered greens.

Airification was 2 weeks prior. No where on the website nor golf now said anything of the sort. They left the notification up for less than 10 days. In fact the pro shop attendant said the course was in perfect shape upon checkin. He couldn’t have lied more if he tried. And we were still charged full price. Other than the greens at this specific time…fantastic place! Just wish they were honest!

Playing golf at Kelly Plantation has been on my list ever since I bought a house in Destin back in 2021. When a buddy told me that he’s coming down to my place in Destin, I knew booking a teatime at Kelly is a must. And boy, am I glad I did. upon our arrival, we were greeted by a very friendly security guard, at the entrance near Legendary Marine (not off 98). He welcomed us in, pointed us in the right direction, and wished us a good round. We arrived and checked in, we were greeted by Greg at the front desk, a very nice gentleman, when we paid for our teetimes. We went back out and found our bags already in a cart with drinks ready to go. Such a nice thing to do on a hot day. Nobody on the course! Surprisingly! However I didn’t complain. We took our time playing, had a nice lunch, and a great time.

The only reason why I gave 4 stars to the layout and condition are for two small reasons. 1) Layout: I wish more holes had a view of the bay. Hole 3 is the signature hole, and then on the back 9, you don’t get views of the gorgeous water. Very small but I think it would cool. 2) Course condition. We had our price reduced from $159 to $119 because of the aeration of the greens. That caught us a little bit off guard. I’m thinking in the shoes a pro such as Bryson DeChambeau here… a pro wouldn’t be happy with such a surprise. Maybe a small email note letting us know before? No big deal at all especially for me… but if a pro like Bryson or Viktor Hovland shows up… Maybe not a good situation. All good though!

I really enjoyed playing at Kelly Plantation. It was a great way to introduce my good buddy to Destin. Thank you to all for a great round.

Really good course. Grass range with unlimited balls. Solid chipping and putting green. Course was in fantastic shape and good mix of challenging holes And gettable holes. I would say though a lot of the holes seemed very similar in design. Would still recommend to anyone to go check out while they’re visiting.

Course was in great condition. Fun layout, plenty challenging. The hospitality is fantastic, they treat everyone like a member. Greens were pure, fairways in great shape. Lots of great things about this place. Beverage cart is cash only so make sure you have some handy!

Course is in great shape. Greens rolled true. The hospitality was amazing, as a tourist you get a real member treatment here, the staff is awesome. Would love to come back and play again sometime.
