Haven't been here in 2 years now I know why
Please sell this place to someone who can make it great
Could be an outstanding course
They have some ground under repair, they are heading in right direction. Need some bridge work and the greens normally good they just sanded them but they are on the way back.. All in all not a bad play just need some TLC.
Nice Layout and thats about the only nice thing!
This Course has a really nice layout and good length to many holes. Greens are in fairly good condition and then the good ends. They started working on and fixing sand traps a year ago but seem to have abandoned finishing. Piles of sand have been sitting in the parking lot for what seems like a year. Majority of the traps do not have sand and are either water holes or red clay pits. A number of the wooden bridges need major fixing and you need to drive with caution crossing them and it appears repairs might be on tap at some point based on the pile of lumber sitting next to the clubhouse. A good number of the fairways are really bad. 5, 10 & 11 might be the worst. if you go into the round playing with the mindset of rolling the ball to find grass then all is good. Most tee boxes are not bad although most are littered with broken tees and do not look like they have ever been picked up.
Nice that you have a range where its not on mats and no mats exist but $18 for a large bucket its expensive when all you can hit off is a barren desert of sand and dirt.
Golf carts are a funny mix of gas and electric. Some of the gas carts are rough.
In the end the price is fairly reasonable compared to almost all the courses around especially if you play late in the day. . Get some water on the fairways, get some grass planted, traps with sand and bridges repaired. Pro Shop has minimal merch and cooler with drinks. grill does not appear to have been used or occupied for years.
If you are a hacker or go out with the mindset of moving the ball around and out of any traps then its a fairly good deal. Rather spend $35-45 at old liberty than $70 at the Crossings or Falls Village.
Awful. Don’t waste your time or money
If you enjoy hitting off of red clay, poor fairways, and tee boxes that look like dirt tracks for racing - this is your course. Don’t get me started on the “sand traps” - they are clay pits. The only positive thing about this course is the greens are well kept.
First last time
Do you enjoy grass? Do you like sand in bunkers? Do you value your time? Do you like being welcomed to the course with a good attitude? If your answers to these questions are “yes” , then this is definitely not the course for you… it’s offensive that Olde Liberty even has the audacity to take patrons money for this tragic clay pit that that call a “golf course”.
Worst Course Conditions Ever
The driving range tee boxes had no grass. The sand traps had no sand in them. The course hasn't seen a drop of water in ages. The fairways were rock hard with just patches of grass on them. The greens were in fairly good condition, but it didn't help the overall condition of the golf course. I have played this golf course in the past and never saw the conditions I experienced on Sunday. Stay away is my recommendation.
Uh
If I had to describe World War 2 to somebody, I would tell them to take a stroll through this course. Surprisingly, the greens were great. Unfortunately the worst course I have ever played condition wise. So much neglect
Course conditions need improvement
The course has a nice layout, but the fairways were essentially hard clay with very little grass. The fairway bunkers had almost no sand. A comprehensive refurbishment is required before I will play this course again.
Awful
Would never come back to this course, fairway looks like a Vietnam war zone.
Fairways killed the round
Fairways had so many bare spots. Even rolling the ball a little it was hard to find any grass to get under the ball in most situations. Many of the bare spots also had plenty of pebbles so you just wouldn't want to hit off of them. Golf carts had seen better days. Greens were in excellent shape. Pro shop and golfers I interacted with were all friendly.
Course Conditions
A few of the fairways have very little grass and a lot of the bunkers are blown out. Greens are fine.
Opportunity for improvement
Started 30 min after our tee time due to lack of carts. Pace was slow due to no cart was allowed on fairway. But I enjoyed the playing with my friends.
The greens were in good shape but the tee boxes were a mess. There is clearly a lot of work going on with a few traps on the back 9 receiving fresh sand. Pace of play was very slow and running 20 minutes behind by 9:30.
Some much they have improved
They done a great job bring this course. The improvement are great. Bunker’s are being rebuilt. Going in the right way.
