Lionhead Golf and Country Club - Legends
About
The Legends Course at Lionhead Golf & Country Club has been ranked before as one of the toughest golf courses in North America and the club boasts that it is the toughest in Canada. Lionhead Golf & Country Club also offers another, less demanding 18-hole course that is equally entertaining, the Masters. Legends features numerous challenges including vast lakes, cavernous sand bunkers, and tall fescue. The layout winds through a rugged portion of the Credit River Valley with steeply rolling terrain and wooded ravines, providing the golf course with elevated, undulating greens. The eighth is a notable hole, both for its beautiful scenery and its difficulty level. It is a long par 3 over a pond filled with tall bulrushes.

Oct 2nd review
I wanted to know on our play for Friday, October 2nd then although the day prior it did rain and clearly we knew we might be able to play by 90 to the ball. It was not allowed. It was card path only for the full course. I would have thought that by even the 10th hole as the conditions were not soggy it was not wet that we might be able to play either 90 or just drive on the fairway. No updates by Marshall as he flew by once and hence disappointed. Long day when it's just cart path only for the full course.
Over Played
I was a walk on single matched with a threesome. Round took 5.5 hours. Waited on every shot. We had 12 golfers waiting on the 6th tee box. Group in front hitting multiple balls. No Marshall's to be seen all day. Food at the turn wasn't ready, even after we called it in from the 8th hole. Biggest waste of time at a golf course EVER.
This course not worth for the money.
When I booked this course through Golf Now, it was for only one player which also meant I will be joining 3 other players. When I was waiting at the tee box, I was informed that I will be only player. If I don’t want to play by myself, I have to wait half an hour to join another twosome group.
The second issue I have is that the green has been aerated and making putting unpleasant. Normally the club house should inform the player or offer a much reduced green fee to compensate the inconvenience caused.
The third issue is the pace of play. There are too many players that don’t have golf etiquette causing the play very slow. We basically have to wait on every hole. Also saw players in front of us tossing putters and missed, damaging the green.
The whole round was not very pleasant and I don’t think I would like to play there again until the situations improve.
Great day
Great course for people looking for a day that is much more challenging than average.
