Lionhead Golf and Country Club - Masters
About
The Masters Course at Lionhead Golf & Country Club is ideal for golfers who don't feel they are prepared to take on the demanding Legends Course at the club, which has been ranked as one of the toughest courses in North America. The Masters layout is similar to golf courses in Florida, with unique bunkers and scenic ponds that meld perfectly with the rolling hills and wetlands that dot the scenic landscape. Its more traditional layout is considered the kinder and gentler of the two golf courses at Lionhead Golf & Country Club, but there are still a fair amount of challenges. The Masters course requires several long carries over water, particularly on the 16th. This infamous par 5 features a green surrounded by water.

Kaneff should be embarassed
Is it normal practice to punch your greens in July and not tell your customers? $190 for air rated slow as shiot greens was really disappointing. I haven’t played here for years as I felt the value wasn’t there and a Lionhead catered to golf tournaments and not real golfers anymore. This place used to be amazing, great conditions and tough, now it’s just a rip off. You should be embarrassed to charge that amount and I won’t be going back. I know it doesn’t matter, no real golfers there anymore. Sell it and build houses on the property.
Check in
Need to simplify the check in process and be sure people are checked in - we had staff coming to the first tee chasing 2 groups about waivers - Lionhead is not cheap and you don’t need/appreciate being chased down like you did something wrong. It leads to starting your day frustrated when it all should have been handled properly at the time of checkin - don’t even let people get into the carts until this is completed
I feel for the young men that get sent to interrupt friends day on the first tee
Course condition and pace of play
Some of the fairways and greens was in poor condition and probably irrigation and dryness issue.
Pace of play was pathetic. Staff did not help even when we complained that the individuals ahead of us were taking multiple shots from the same spot and significantly slowing the pace of play.
Enjoyable
Late afternoon round so great value for price paid. Overall course was in good condition and the greens were rolling nicely. Would definitely return.
Great playing !
Amazing day for a Masters level course. Really great staff and had an amazing time on the course. Pair up was good too.
Ban sunflower seeds
