Bear Trap Dunes Golf Club - Black Bear/Grizzly Course
About
Bear Trap Dunes Golf Club boasts 27 holes of championship golf that are situated on a scenic stretch of coastline, just a few miles west of Bethany Beach. The holes are played in three different 18-hole combinations that tumble across sandy dunes and grassy hollows. The natural contours of the coastal landscape largely determined the movement and flow of all three nine-hole courses. The nines, Grizzle, Kodiak, and Black Bear, all have winding fairways bordered by native wetland grasses and lush, oversized greens that boast some of the best conditions on the Eastern Shore. The Black Bear/Grizzly combination is the longest of the three golf courses. Not only does the coastal terrain provide many natural hazards, including several water features, there are also strategically placed bunkers with which to contend.

Pace of play was horrific
Well .
Some.how there wax SIX golfers playing in front of me .
Not sure how that was happening.
Took about 3 hrs to play 8 holes
Totally unacceptable
For the price to play a round is somewhat gopf.gpuging in my opinion
The overall course is in excellent condition
But slow play and the starter should no better on a weekend in the middle of summer
Great track and facility, but far too expensive
I have been playing Bear Trap for many, many years. The course is almost always in phenomenal shape. Pace of play tends to be pretty solid since there are 27 holes. The facility and amenities are great. The cost to play a round there is entirely absurd. I don’t know what else to say about it.
Great time at Bear Trap
The staff was amazing and the course was great, I would highly recommend it.
cart path
The course goes cart path only all too often. We played 9 times this year and 5 were cart path only. A real pain. Also, if you are going to force people to use the cart path, pls fix the vary bumping cart paths. The cart paths are in terrible shape
A very nice golf course.
Considering all the play it gets the course was in excellent condition. Lots of tee choices, too
Quality course
Highly recommend, course was in very good shape, greens were reasonable speed!! Unlike other courses I played in the area this week were incredibly slow. Much accolades to the Bear trap crew!!
Needs some TLC and Mich Better Pace of Play
Great layout and staff. Bunkers in bad shape. Greens inconsistent and bumpy. Tee boxes beat up. Fairways surprisingly lush. Worst part was pace of play. No staff on course to move things along - Wild West with backups everywhere.
Good course conditions
With a discount from Golf Now, the playing experience was very good. Having range balls included along with the course conditions, we had a great time. Greens were rolling well too! The only knock was an increasingly slow play as we approached and made the turn. Didn't see much course help to move things along which is always definitely appreciated, especially on a hot summer day.
Rata
Good course for value & quality at a beach course. Good greens, clean tee boxes, fairways could be cut a bit shorter. Club house & restaurant are top level for a public course.
Great walking courses
First, the Staff was Excellent! Everyone from Starter/ Cart guys/Pro Shop. Everyone was very Professional and had Great Customer Service skills. That goes a mile for me. 3 9 Hole Courses that when I play again, I will walk. You don't need a Driver if you hit over 225 yards. 3 wood is fine. The real test here is keep in the Fairway and your scoring is 100 yards in. Alot of bunkers so be careful. I enjoyed my round. A little pricey but what's not now a days.
Great course
Country club feeling for the day. Course in great shape staff is super friendly. Will definitely be back
Awesome
One of the best in the area, country club amenities. Starter is awesome, very accommodating staff, course conditions are top notch. One extra club at sea level. Love it each time I play here. High fives to the crew, great work!
