About
Tangle Ridge Golf Club's location near Joe Pool Lake is favorable because of the elevation changes that spice up this well maintained public course. The course offers some outstanding holes, highlighted by impressive bentgrass greens that putt true. In addition to the elevation changes, Jeff Brauer's design features generous fairways lined by thick brush and huge trees. Two holes grab your attention on the front side. The opener goes 469 yards and might be the most difficult on the golf course. While there aren't too many hazards, bunkers protect the fairway and green, and the thick rough lining the fairway makes it a difficult long approach if you miss the smooth stuff off the tee. Tangle Ridge Golf Club's eighth hole is considered the signature: a 575-yarder that rolls downhill off the tee to a creek that cuts the fairway at 300 yards out. The approach on no. 8 must carry the creek to an elevated green protected by two massive mounds.

Golfer Reviews
NO RESPECT FOR PACE OF PLAY
There were way too many players scheduled at the same time. There was specifically one group that had 4 children running all over the course while the 4 adults were playing. They would get done shooting and have to wait for their 4 small children to finally come back to the cart! They also had an adult without a cart walking with his clubs. Extremely disrespectful players. 100% against the rules but Tangled Ridge does nothing. A waste of $80. We got 4 holes in 1 hr! I don't not recommend this course.
Range closed but cart girl was amazing
Been looking forward to this round all week. Showed up over an hour early and the range is closed. Why? Because "they hit all the balls"... Is the course not properly staffed on a Saturday when its 80 degrees outside and golf is at it's best.. If this was the first time this has happened at this course I'd just let it go.. but this is second time in a row. CiCi the cart girl was amazing though! The course was in OK condition, greens were good.
Good Value
Greens and fairways in good shape. Course is challenging, fun, and a good value!
My only complaint is the brake on our electric cart would not lock easily. Lots of steep cart paths so this was an issue!
Tangle Ridge great course
New management company… hopefully stocks the clubhouse soon.
Course was in amazing shape for the first week of fall with almost no rain. Greens rolled faster and slower than anticipated on most holes. Grounds were very well kept and bunkers clean. Looking forward to my next round here in a couple of months.
Need a course marshal
This course is quite challenging and no marshal. If you were in bad luck following selfish slow players ahead of you, you would finish at least 5 and half hours for 18 holes. I saw a group of 3 left 2 holes behind and other 1 hole behind. Don't recommend this during weekends unless a course marshal runs.
