About
One of the first courses in the growing 1970s Plano community, Pecan Hollow started out as the Plano Municipal Golf Course. Don January and Billy Martindale, who had recently completed their signature Royal Oaks in Dallas, contracted with the city to help provide golf for Plano’s growing population.
The terrain here is flat, and the fairways are mostly wide open. January used the standard bunkers, water hazards, and trees in his design to cause problems for the golfer. The greens are of medium size and speed, and the course is basically pretty standard until you reach the punishing final stretch of holes. Nos. 16-18 are all 445-yard-plus par 4s with water in play–one of the toughest tests of golf in the DFW area.
Getting there : From I-75 north, take Plano Parkway east, then exit at 14th St. Turn right, drive a short distance to the course, and look for the entrance on the left side of the street.

Golfer Reviews
Greens in great shape
Fun place to play. Good range, putting and chipping areas for warm up. Greens were terrific. Fairways great for the most part. Staff very friendly. Loved it and will be back
Really Good Public Course
Pecan Hollow is one of the better public courses in the DFW area. It's probably the best value of all DFW public courses. The greens are in really good shape. It's been a brutally hot summer. So, there are some burnt places around the course, as there are most courses in DFW. But overall, the course has been maintained well and the greens are in really good shape. My son and I love coming out here for a good, competitive round.
Pecan Hollow is such great value!
In a time when courses are charging a mint, Pecan Hollow is half on the price and better shape.
Very, very slow pace of play. They do not set their tee times correctly, so it jams up the course. We was waiting 10 to 15 minutes each tee box which it put our whole round over 5 hours of play time
This course is much better than the green fee
In from out of state first time playing in the area. The staff were helpful and incredibly friendly. Course was in great shape. Greens were rolling great and in really good shape for as dry and hot as it’s been. Would recommend this course to anyone who was coming to the area to play golf.
