Not for the faint hearted
This was the first time I have played this course strangely as it’s only 30 mins down the road. The price point of the round would suggest an average course but this course is far from average. This course is not for the faint hearted physical and mentally, buggies or electric trolleys will take some of the strain. But as it’s set amongst the the hills of the Kent countryside this round will have you up and down hills like Jack & Jill. The course it’s self is tough for any level of golfer with sloping fairways and rough that will swallow your ball quicker than a hungry hippo. As for the greens they keep you guessing, some were solid and the ball would race across them like Usain Bolt no mater the shot played other had a little more softness to allow the ball to be controlled slightly more. This is definitely a summer course but will definitely be visiting again.
Much improved
This was on our never play again course a year ago. So much improved and glad we decided to give it another go. Quick greens and decent fairway condition
Much improved
Played here a year ago and it was awful. Greens were bald and covered in leaves and it was completely run down. We decided to give it another go as there were new people running the course and it was well worth it. Greens were as good as any for winter conditions and very quick. Fairway grass was quite long but given the time of year that’s to be expected. Bunkers were well kept with proper soft sand and the course looked fantastic… at £25 a head it was really good value for money and we will definitely play it again this year.
Only criticism was that the practice green was slow and not cut to same height as the actual greens.
Great greens for winter, fairway condition could be better
Played during late December. Greens were running well considering this period, over the round we accumulated a lot of mud on golf shoes. Fairways could have been in better condition. Playing this course for the second time, liking the layout of the course. Bunkers has a good amount of sand in them. Course was fairly empty.
Avoid in winter
Could be one of the worst maintained course in the winter you can play!
Great back 9 layout
The course was in a reasonable condition after all the rain but I found that the tea boxes could’ve been a little bit more tidy. Fairways were good bunkers condition could have been better greens very slow could need some work but in general I enjoyed playing the golf course especially the back back
Great course lovely setting
I Really like Broome park
Challenging but fair although I really struggle with where to hit the second shot on 3. Massive left to right camber so there’s a lot of roll
Nice old mansion main house with the peacock bar for a post round drink
Needs some TLC
The whole course just needs a bit of love. It has potential to be a great course, but the greens are desperate for some work, none of them run true, the grass is patchy at best and all of the holes were so old that grass had grown over the edges.
Some of the bunkers have nearly been taken over by grass, the first hole especially, one of the greenside bunkers is about half the size that it once was.
The tee boxes were patchy and uneven.
The layout of the course is interesting, it’s just not in good enough condition. I know this summer has been dry, but this is clearly down to a lack of maintenance.
There aren’t really any facilities to speak of. No changing rooms, the pro shop is complete bare bones as is the halfway hut.
Must have been a lovely course back in the day
The golf course has not been looked after properly!
Poor tee off boxes, poor fairways, deceased greens.
Needs some tlc
Tee boxes in poor condition. Fairways in poor condition. Half of the greens are ok, a lot of the time you’re putting over sand or mud. Would not rush to play again under the current conditions. Could be such a nice course with a little care put in to it.
Tee boxes and green need a LOT of work
Tee boxes were in tatters, very very poor for the most part.
Greens were patchy, hairline cracks and holes all over and majority dirt and sand.
Could be an amazing course despite this but glad I didn’t have to pay full whack. Some lovely holes but when there’s no guarantee what your putt or tee shot is going to do it’s not really that fun.
If you intend on taking tee shots off the deck, bring a slab of turf with you enjoy breaking your wrists.
Brilliant course
Friendly staff, The first tee is secluded without having the dreaded first tee nerves from clubhouse onlookers
The course is well looked after and signage to each tee is very well thought out
We all know how easy it is to get lost playing a course for the first time
All in all had a great day
Great value
Too many courses are so expensive and disappointing. This is not, great course, great value, very friendly staff in the half way hut which actually doubled as the booking desk as pro shop was closed. Some great holes, 18th is spectacular. A couple if greens still in need of some attention but overall recommended
