About
Carved from acres of wooded countryside in Woodstock, Towne Lake Hills Golf Club takes advantage of the rolling green hills. The dramatic elevation changes make it difficult to find an even lie anywhere on the course. Arthur Hills, the course's designer, incorporated a variety of challenges that makes each hole unique including a deft smattering of sand bunkers. The golf course depends as heavily on course management and strategy as it does on shot-making skills. It is a challenge to say the least, but it's fair. There are also four sets of tees that make it more approachable. One of the most memorable holes is the fifth. This par 5 presents an interesting risk-reward opportunity that will make you think. Towne Lake Hills G.C. boasts consistently good course conditions and idyllic scenery that make the round even more enjoyable.

Great layout
Fun course! Nice layout and conditions. Will return.
Nice challenge. Nice greens
I'm a 6 handicap and I very much enjoyed the challenge. Narrow tee shots and elevation changes are visually challenging and require good shot making.
Bent grass greens that were in good shape in August was surprising. They rolled very good at a medium speed.
I enjoyed it.
This course was fun to play
Very challenging course but I had a decent day with the flagstick so that usually makes for a fun round. The speed of the greens were just right for me. Everyone was friendly and I enjoyed the range for a brief warm up before my round. I’ll be back to this well maintained course with a very unique layout that I enjoyed.
Great Course - Great People
The layout is fantastic. Just aerated so some greens were a little tough, but they adjusted the price accordingly and the rest of the course was immaculate.
But the best part was the people. The employees were happy, joking, and often uttered that rare (today) phrase, "thank you."
Love the huge, shaded deck.
First time in a long time I've played this course, but I will be back soon!
Should be Better
First, the starter was beyond rude. For short response and unwelcoming, annoyed by people type of personality. Next, we were paired with a 4th who was a member, who refused to turn off his 1920’s musics on full blast the entire round. After multiple requests, he would honor the request and then turn it right back up after the next shot. From there, the $10 turkey sandwich and chips were worse than a public school cafeteria. We tried to call the number to order at hole 8 but the line was busy, then took 15 minutes to get food which made us stack behind the group behind us. For a course that has a lot of local competition, there is a lot of lipstick on an otherwise unimpressive pig
Fantastic Golf Course
I had not played the Towne Lake Hills golf course in years, and when I finally got a chance to play it again recently, I remembered how much I enjoy this course. The course is in great shape, and the pace of play is decent. I love the layout since it is fair. You do have to think about your shots, but nothing is brutally difficult. The clubhouse is really nice, and the staff is friendly. I highly recommend this course if you can manage to find a tee time.
Fun time
Had a great time playing this course. I played it from the blue which made the experience more enjoyable! Gold is too tough
Greens and etiquette
I wasn’t prepared for aerated greens. That was too bad as it looked like the greens would be the highlight of an otherwise cramped layout. No way to walk this thing. Some drives feel like a mile away. And unfortunately, the two teens I was paired with had not been taught golf course etiquette. Call me old fashioned but when I’m prepping to putt a 10 footer, my playing partners should not be lining up their 3 footer at the same time. I had to leave them at that point. One of them was happy to let me know he was a member.
Towne Lake Hills GC
The course is overpriced for what they deliver in quality.
Great course at a great price
Great course. Conditions were good a the layout was good.
Great Course
Beautiful course. No issues with the staff. Greens in great condition.
pairing issue
paired with 1 player he only played 9 holes , so i would have been playing myself behind a foursome , i did not see a ranger so after spending $77.00 i was forced to quit. not a great round. i've played there more than 50 rounds, very frustrating.,
I Loved This Place
I came in from Houston for a baseball tournament and got a chance to play here today and absolutely loved it. We don’t have elevation like this back in Houston. It’s such a beautiful course and very well kept. Luckily I got paired up with some guys that are locals and helped me navigate each hole. The greens played super fast but after the 3rd hole I figured them out. When I come back to Atlanta, I will definitely come back.
Great Course, Great Shape, Great Value
Had not played the course in a while and don't know why. Greens were in very good condition , as were the fairways. Nice pro shop and grill too! The track does have a number of blind shots that I don't love, and the cart paths are in pretty base shape, but for the money and proximity to the city I would absolutely recommend!
Horrible course setup, chaos at checkin
Chaos at checkin. Proshop barely said help when checking in. No carts available, had to wait for one to be brought up. Bag drop and cart area was messy. Starters doing the best they can. Course setup was awful. Pin positions were goofy golf at peak of a ridge or in 2 cases in the middle of a slope. Greens inconsistent speed but mostly sloooow. So many unrepaired ball marks. Pace of play slow but tolerable. But we had a 2-some jump us without asking even though we were waiting on group in front. This happened twice. Not a place I recommend based on this culture and experience. They're happy to take your greens fees, but that's about it.
