Spencer T. Olin Golf Course

Played as a 3some at 8:30am so pace of play was slower than wed liked but it was a beautiful day. Greens had been punched a week or so before but had filled in nicely. The Zoysia Fairways are some of the best around. Luckily I was only in 1 bunker but it was very playable. Young lady at the snack bar was very nice & helpful. We live in Springfield so 1.5hr drive to play 4.5hr. Round & a trip to Fast Eddie's makes for a long day...lo

See You Again Soon!

This is a great course for the money. It’s a great shape and they keep people moving so the pace of supply is on point.

Beautiful, challenging course. Always in great shape. Great price.

This course is always beautiful and very fun to play. We would definitely play this course again.

Always been told to play Spencer T Olin and was not disappointed. The course was great condition. Tee boxes were great soft and lush. Fairways great shape especially with the hot lately. Greens were decent shape. Lots of balls marks but this is from patrons not fixing them during play. The play of pace was the slowest any place I have ever played. Just use to more ready golf play. Some patrons waiting to set up for hit until group is on green on par 5s. Did not see anyone in group ahead of us even come close to hitting 250 plus. Saw marshells several times and ever seem to help pace. Definitely worth the money even if paying full price. Just be prepared to play 6 hours. .

Greens and fairways are nice and in good shape. Carts are older but electric which I like. The course has a park like feel since there are no homes or structures on the course. There are a few power lines and tall fences that make it a bit challenging in a couple areas. It’s a Palmer course and has many dog legs also making it more difficult. Overall, it’s a fun course and look forward to playing again.

The course was in fantastic shape. No complaints there. They just put sand on the greens so they were a little slow but receptive. Every time I play here, it is slow. Not sure if people are playing the wrong tees or just delusional about their game but this is the only issue I have with STO.

One of the best values in the area. The course layout is challenging and fun, and the conditions are very good. It does get a lot of play and unfortunately too many people don't fix ball marks so the greens can get very bumpy. The biggest complaint and reason I don't play here often is the pace of play. It can get outrageously slow if you don't get out super early. We were fortunate enough to get an early tee time and breezed through in 3:45 last time out. Afternoons are routinely 5+hours. Overall it is one of my favorites and wish the pace of play would improve so I could get in more rounds here.

I have been playing this course for 30+ years, and I never get tired of it!! Super layout, and the course is always in fantastic condition. The ladies in the kitchen serve up some fantastic homemade sandwiches, and the prices for beer and food are always very reasonable. I can’t say enough to endorse this course….you cannot go wrong in choosing this course as your next golf destination!!

There was rain in the forecast , so clubhouse guy, Nick, got me out an hour early to avoid the weather . The course was in fantastic shape !! If the lazy idiots would fix their pitch marks on the greens, they would be dang near perfect . The pace was good , decent golfers around me knew how to play . I can’t wait to play Spencer T again !!

Great course near the St Louis/Alton area. I play every time I am in the area. Always worth a playing. I have never been disappointed.

Course is challenging. Requires you to choose clubs other than driver off the tee box on non par-3s. The rain made the greens very slow and the pin placements were very difficult - almost all seemed on the side of a slope. We got stuck behind a foursome who did not play ready golf on the tee box, in the fairway, or on the green. This made the last 7 holes very frustrating.

The course is in fabulous shape tee to green. Played 36 holes without waiting. Everything was perfect. Prices right too! Steve

Course was in good condition. Open fairways and greens rolled very nice.
