What Renovation?
Okay, hear me out. I love the layout of this course and the stretch of holes 15-18 to close out the round are among the best sequence of finishing holes in the area. Here is the problem; this course was closed for two years to be renovated, and the improvements to the course were very few and nothing special. Teeboxes were repaired, greens were improved slightly, bunkers were improved(but have weird long grass around every bunker, clearly a choice), and they renovated the club house. I can guarantee you that most of the money went to the clubhouse, and more money and time should have gone to the course. They close the course for 2 years and there are still mud patches near the drains, and really dry fairways and dry brown grass everywhere. I was there the day after it opened again and it felt like people had been playing it for the last two years. If they are going to charge people $110 to play at 1:30 on a weekend, the course has to be better than that. I was hoping to enjoy the course a bit more, but was absolutely disappointed. It’s a fine course, but don’t get your hopes to high. The hope will kill you.
Redone greens but much the same.
I’ve always liked Orchard Valley as a golf course, with a renovation that seems all they did was redo the greens so they now roll probably close to a 10, but nothing else changed. They redid many of the tea boxes and the grass around and it’s very pleasant to look at, but the grass everywhere else is the same, if not even drier than before.
Excellent shape
Slow foursomes in front of us
Backed up play at twilight
Still shaking my head
Even saying something to them
Play thru, move over, go home, quit, get physical which would have been preferred, or try lesser course to practice. Hey I get it. Great exercise. We were all there at one time, but come on
Outside that lol, gorgeous course gorgeous day
Looking forward to see renovations.
Nice for the cost
Located west of Chicago, just south of I-88. Because of its location it’s usually crowded . Plenty of challenge but slow play can reduce visits. Still we will go back once we forget because it’s fun.
Very satisfied
Great price for a 1pm tee time. Course was in great condition for time of year. First time playing this course and was impressed. Going to get this course in the rotation. Had food and drinks after. Waitress was friendly and food was good.
No rangers.
Group of 5 and a group of 6 Dekalb highschoolers on a Sunday afternoon. No rangers to be seen. Pro shop seemed like they could care less.
Beautiful Course
Great course, even better value, first time here but forsure not last. Played most courses in the area and this is one of, if not the best in western Chicago land.
Great Round Of Golf
I've always liked Orchard Valley. Course was in good shape for the time of year. The layout of the course is fun. Only downside is ball marks on the greens which isn't their fault. Everything else was great.
2nd time
This is a great course. I am a beginner golfer and there are some great challenges and fun holes. Highly recommend and everyone is really friendly.
