Spooky Brook Golf Course in Somerset is a player-friendly course that is perfect for beginners. It offers just enough of a challenge but it still allows you some room for error. At 6,655 yards from the back tees, the golf course is relatively short but the greens, tees, and fairways offer plenty of room. The mostly flat terrain makes for an enjoyable walk and it's also wide open. While the golf course may not be the most formidable test, it does have a few challenges in store. Water has a presence throughout the course, especially on the back nine. Whether or not you are looking to hone your skills or if you want a casual round, the well maintained golf course appeals to any skill level. In addition to the course, Spooky Brook G.C. also has a driving range that you can use to warm-up.

Spooky delivers
Course is in terrific shape. Only complaint would be the pace of play on the back nine as a group was 2-3 holes behind which backed up the course. A ranger could have been useful but there was none on the course in the late afternoon
Greedy
Called the course and they told me the greens were flooded and unplayable and constant lightning strikes but they refused to mark the course as closed which led to me not getting my refund. This is just greedy to charge players for rounds they can’t play and in a gentleman’s sport like this you expect some level of class.
I got a 720 tee time the night before and played with 3 guys I'd never met. The course was in great shape, the greens were the best I've seen there and I've been playing there nearly 50 years. I live in middlesex county but gladly drive the extra distance ( and pay for the fee to get the in county price)because of the Somerset county courses. And OBTW we played in under 4 hours walking. Kudos to the staff for having the course in such great shape.
Spooky Brook
4 hour round, moving briskly. Great, friendly staff. Gold cart moved relatively slowly, but I believe this was an anomaly.
Good solid golf course
Played as a single. Met three nice guys and we played the full 18 holes. My only criticism is that the greens are very, very slow. That was the common analysis by all four golfers in my group. Otherwise, maybe a little more sand in the traps, but the rest of the golf course was terrific. I think with a bit of attention to those two criticisms, the course would be perfect.

More Maintrnance
In numerous areas of the course, particularly in the rough, the grass is thin and bare spots appear. Even the fairways are inconsistent, some areas being thin. For this reason, I give SpookyBrook a lower rating than Quailbrook.
Good Value
Everything was fine, but the Starter is a little surley...
Decent Layout very Forgiving
Spooky broke is known to be spacious and relatively level. If your Walker and spray the ball this is the place to go. Not happy about them stopping chipping around a generous practice putting green. They also did away with the bag drop so they could block off part of the driveway. Really stupid non-golfer oriented decisions.
Nice course
Nice layout, good condition, very playable and good pace of play. Will definitely be back.
