Nestled within the Blue Ridge Mountains, Cummings Cove Golf & Country Club is peacefully tucked away with the Great Smokies sheltering it to the west. It offers some of the most stunning views of any golf course in western North Carolina. Although it feels remote, Asheville is less than half an hour away. The mountainous surroundings provide a dramatically hilly terrain that is ideal for a challenging round of golf. Players will face plenty of uneven lies on this layout. The elevation changes also provide some interesting risk-reward opportunities throughout the golf course. Mature trees frame most of the holes and the small, sloped greens are often framed with bunkers. The Cummings Cove layout seems unusually short at only 6,415 yards from the back tees but it's not to be underestimated. The undulating terrain makes it feel much longer.

Beautiful course

Very well maintained course with some stunning views and some challenging holes. It rained the day before and rained while we were playing, so it was cart path only - which I prefer to walk if that is the case; but didn't bring the wheels. Will plan another trip to play when the weather has been dry.

This was my first time playing in the Asheville area and I was very impressed. I found the club online and the Staff was very Helpful in changing my tee time due to travel changes. The approach and views were amazing and Staff welcoming. The course was in excellent condition with lots of vertical changes and great views.

I will. be back to play and will recommend to friends. It is a must-play in the area.

Great Mountain Course

We chose this course by chance and we were glad we did. It is a wonderful mountain course with lots of views. The condition is fantastic....very good superintendent for sure. Logout is very challenging but fair. Playing for the first time is rough but it's just so nice, it doesn't matter. We met a lot of the golf community home owners and they were very hospitable to us and shared some of the course knowledge. We will be back!

Cummings Cove Golf &Cc

This course has a great layout and was in very good condition except for the bunkers and sand traps that have not been maintained due to COVID 19. The pace of play on the back nine was very slow compared to the front nine. It seemed like a number of groups stopped at the turn resulting in backups on the 10th tee that resulted in the slow pace of play on the back nine.

Mountian golf..doesn't get much better

Happened to be staying in Hendersonville NC for a week long family reunion in mid july. Discovered this course on golfnow and decided to give it a try. Booked a great hot deal about 5 days before we got there. The weather was supposed to be in the high 80's and out tee time was a little after 1pm. Checked in about 12:30 and the gentleman in the proshop greeted us and said once we loaded up we could head out early..whoohoo!!. The visual appeal of this course hits you as soon as you leave the pro shop. This is mountain golf at its finest. Front nine seemed to be in the "valley"....and the back nine was in the upper moutains with spectacular views!! Nothing like this in my area of Mivhigan so it was a real treat to have discovered this track'The tee boxes/fairways/greens were in GREAT shape. Greens were quick downhill and the up hill putts took a bit more oomph to reach the hole. The one negative about this course were the sandtraps. A bit overgrown with weeds and not great sand to begin with. With a little TLC I would give this 5 stars. If you want to experience mountain golf and are in thi s area...it is worth the time/money especially if you get a nice weather day.

Unexpected pleasure!

We live in Greenville and our course was just completely aerated so we were looking for a place to go. The reviews here looked good so we decided to give it a try. Greens were excellent, fairways excellent and the course had lots of beautiful, good holes. We’re going back next week!

Excellent layout and condition but very short for long hitters. Staff was super friendly and had excellent customer service skills. Great day overall and we ccx will return.

Very narrow and short

The course was in good shape and the staff was friendly. My issue with the course was primarily with the design. It was very tight and very short. Was only able to hit two drivers all day. It was target golf at its finest. Besides for that the course and the people were great

Hidden gem of all hidden gems

I’m from Nashville so didn’t know the local courses. Found Cummings Cove in golfnow.com and seemed like a good deal. Couldn’t have enjoyed its layout and laid back vibe more. Will definitely return, but with loads of friends next time. Two thumbs as high up as they go.

A Great Day

We arrived 2 hours early and the guy in the pro shop was able to switch us to an earlier tee time (we had to drive a long way later that night, so this was a big help). The turkey bacon sandwich was big and delicious.

The course was in good condition and many of the holes had nice views of the surrounding mountains. The course has a few challenges, but is not too difficult. The greens were fast and true. (I had 8 1-putts.) The local players were friendly and pace of play was good except for the last 3 holes. We played 18 in 4 hours exactly.

We’ll be back the next time we’re in the area!

Great course...Need a starter.

Awesome course in fabulous shape. Can’t say enough about the course. Pace of play was brutal, there was no starter and i didn’t see a single foursome on the course. All singles and doubles. Some pairing up at the first tee would be great for pace of play.

Pro shop guy was very surprised and kinda rude about the rate we got booking via GolfNow. Will continue using Golf Now. Will think twice before booking this course again due to the comments received in the pro shop.
