Cummings Cove Golf & Country Club

We arrived 2 hours early and the guy in the pro shop was able to switch us to an earlier tee time (we had to drive a long way later that night, so this was a big help). The turkey bacon sandwich was big and delicious.

The course was in good condition and many of the holes had nice views of the surrounding mountains. The course has a few challenges, but is not too difficult. The greens were fast and true. (I had 8 1-putts.) The local players were friendly and pace of play was good except for the last 3 holes. We played 18 in 4 hours exactly.

We’ll be back the next time we’re in the area!

Awesome course in fabulous shape. Can’t say enough about the course. Pace of play was brutal, there was no starter and i didn’t see a single foursome on the course. All singles and doubles. Some pairing up at the first tee would be great for pace of play.

Pro shop guy was very surprised and kinda rude about the rate we got booking via GolfNow. Will continue using Golf Now. Will think twice before booking this course again due to the comments received in the pro shop.

The course is in excellent condition. Arrived a little early and was able to tee off a little early. We were not held up and did not have anyone pushing us. All staff was very friendly.

Only one problem they did not have my tee time from golf now in there computer . Once they look at my iPhone and the tee time from golf now they let me play .....

The scenery around this golf course is beautiful, from the nice homes to the wildlife running across the fairways!

Grass was phenomenal, played very well.

Greens are still coming in from being punched, but the ball rolled just fine on the surface.

Was 1st time love the course love try the club when things get better with this virus is over had a great time love the lay out so pretty the views will be back

I thought that we had gotten a good deal on Hot Deal but they never mentioned that there’s no carts on fairways at all nor that they had just airatted the greens ...putting was terrible and they should make paying guests aware of these conditions

Greens were very disappointing. They were being airrated and way too sandy.

Haven’t played here since last summer. New Pro shop / cart area is now closer to parking lot for added convenience. Since it was late March, still no water on course or bunkers raked, not sure if staff hours have been cut do to Corona Virus, but I’d like to see bunkers raked on a Saturday, at least. New carts with gps were nice. New home construction / lot clearing along hole no. 11 is still in process. New lot clearing behind the green on hole no. 15 looks new. Other than that, same old Cummings Cove, no starter / rangers, barely friendly pro shop staff, $42 on a Saturday is fine, but wait for a hot deal during the week for maximum value.

This was our first time playing this course. The Director Carl was very friendly and helpful. The course was a little wet from a rain a few days before. Local knowledge of the course would be very helpful, and as first timers the course is not always the most visually apparent of what you need to do or the best place to hit. The cart GPS system is very helpful but not always reflecting the layout exactly. That being said a group of locals I am assuming got behind us and all four felt standing in the fairway with their hands on their hips watching passive aggressively would speed us up. It might if worked but they failed to see the group in front of us, that eventually let us play through. But again this course takes a bit to figure out what you’re doing or where the ball even went (lots of blind shots). The bunkers needed raked and the fairway plugged on most tee shots.

Don’t go after a heavy rain!! Beautiful course but horrible playing conditions. Literally the ground was soup. We made the plans a few days before so we didn’t expect the rain. Hopefully we can make the trip back with some dry conditions!

Booked on Golf Now using a reward code. this made the price very good. Course was in excellent condition foe mid November. Staff (said his name was Bear) treated me fantastic. I live 2 hours away in Knoxville, TN so I can't play here as much as I would like to, but I will make another golf trip to Asheville and Cummings Cove will be on list to play again.

Anyone traveling to the Asheville area, Cummings Cove is a must! To all that have complained about our members...Buss-off. We welcome all outside play and hope you will love the course as much as we do! As the youngest member of Cummings Cove I have to say I love the league play and enjoy all of our members. The crew that takes care of the course is second to non. The budget that that work with is remarkable and the course is in great condition.

It's worth a drive off the beaten path to get to Cummins Cove. The course layout is a typical mountain course (i.e. tight, up and down, not terribly long, with a premium on keeping the ball in play). Greens were absolutely perfect, and fairways were nice with just a few bare/under repair spots. The layout is a little quirky, but it fits into the site. Moreover, some of the mountain vistas are absolutely spectacular. I thoroughly enjoyed playing there!

My negatives surround the staff. I understand this is mostly a members' course, and those guys come and go without a lot of help. But we had to wait quite a while to even get acknowledged upon entering the shop. The guy manning the counter didn't seem too excited to even get us registered and on the course.

Ditto getting a cart. They were supposed to be "just outside" per the front counter guy, but they were nowhere to be found. I finally had to lead the counter guy down the hill to the cart shack where we interrupted the cart attendant's meal to bring a cart out. Just weird.

The server/bartender in the restaurant was awesome, though, and that really helped balance things.

All in, the on-course experience outweighed the off-course, and I would certainly go back!

The course was challenging enough. Other golfers very friendly.

Caught a super deal price and headed out. Thought I might get 18 in before the rains hit, but only made it to 8. Horse on a flat rock kind of rain, so struggled in on 9, had a 90 minute lunch in the clubhouse, not bad.

A fellow player told me the course staff would not let anyone out until the pools on 9 & 10 greens drained, but later a staffer told me due to complaints from some members, they no longer held folks off the course; if I wanted to head out, go for it! Dude even let me head back to #9 tee & re-do the hole.

Carts are comfy, GPS system is accurate and useful. Course is challenging; lots of tight shots & decisions to hit iron off the tee or try the 10% chance of winning big with the driver across the corner. Greens were in good shape.

Fun course, I'll play it again.
