Nice course, great value
Really enjoyed this course! Pace was great on a Friday! Well kept fairways and greens. Lots of work going on to expand the course. Don’t believe the price and membership will stay this low much longer.
Hidden Gem
Course is in excellent condition. Pro shop staff is very friendly. Restaurant attached to club house is amazing!!! Worth the drive from outside Charlotte and surrounding areas !!!
Great Spot for the Price!
Cool course indeed
I liked the course.... greens and fairways were good, staff was friendly, and the scenery around the course was good also.
Fun course - great for getting away for a couple hours
Colin Creek was a fun course to play. The fairways are nice, and the course overall is well-kept. A couple of the greens were still a bit sandy, with additional grass just starting to come up. But this shouldn't even be an issue in another 2-3 weeks. However, the greens were still very playable.
We were there on the Saturday before Easter, and I was wondering if it was going to be overcrowded on the course. There were plenty of other groups on the course, but we never had to slow play due to the group ahead of us (and we never even saw the group behind us).
Honestly, the only complaint I have is about the course layout/lack of signage. The course gets a bit confusing because they have 12 holes (with an option to play the "back 6" through from a different set of tees to serve as holes 13-18. In theory, it's easy enough to understand -- but the signage is not very clear on the course. Also, when you leave one green, it's not always clear where the next hole is, and you'll run into a few cart path intersections along the way. So it's easy to get turned around.
Again, this was a fun course -- I could definitely see myself playing here again!
Interesting
By its design it is a strange course. 12 holes, so you have to play 6 holes twice, but it is not always clear which hole you are supposed to play. As a first time player on this course it was confusing, especially 16, where you skip a par 3 to get to a par 4.
My biggest complaint were the greens. They were extremely sandy and slow. Maybe if you play there more, you know to expect that. All in all it was fine but probably not somewhere I would go back to. The price is reasonable and people were nice. It’s just a strange course. I would go back, but I would not choose it.
Need to mow greens. Or lower the rates.
Greens must be mowed once a week minimum to maintain some truth to putting lines. Failure to mow at all means great inconsistency in speed and or break. I have always liked this course but there is little maintenance. I hope this spring is kind and that others will give this course an opportunity as the environment and views are wonderful. The Green tree restaurant is the best part of any trip to this course.
This course
Course was pretty open when I played. Greens are recovering but very slow. My ball got stuck in some weeds on my approach shots to the green which was a first. Greens are bumpy. Bring a hammer for some tee boxes to get your tee into the ground. Even if you bring a mattress, your going to need your back readjusted playing this course. Layout of the course is ok. Some fun holes, some head scratcher holes. Overall, spend the extra couple of dollars and play elsewhere.
Great Value & Good People
Course has a friendly staff and has a very good pace. People who give negative feedback on this course are probably looking for a county club type of experience and that frankly isn’t here yet. I highly recommend the course to people who like the serenity of nature & play for enjoyment without lofty expectations. The adjacent restaurant is a “hidden gem” but is closed on Tuesdays.
Mocksville Golf
This unique setup has a total of 12 holes. In order to play 18. You will go back over the first 6 and play from different tee boxes. The greens are having some fungus issues. However, the overall experience was pretty good. There are some holes that required golf shots to be made. Not a bad experience at all... Try It!
Horrible Greens and Conditions
First time out to this 12 hole course. The staff was friendly. The course was awful. Greens were recently plugged. A huge discount should have been given for these conditions. It was a dog track. Holes are not easily laid out to follow. I’m sorry, but for price and conditions, I will not return.
